Has Salah changed?

Two wide forwards, up there with some of our best strikers ever.

And they managed 120 goals whilst playing alongside a useless flabby melt.

Amazing.

Anywhere that does his passing stats? Every time I see him I think he can't pass for shit, but maybe I've caught something off this forum where my brain isn't recognising any of his good passes and I can only see the shit. I thought his passing was bollocks again. Good goal though.

Its a slightly unfair comparison for Owen and Fowler who were kids when they came into the first team but the fact thats hes well infront of Suarez and Torres tells you everything you need to know. The guys a phenomenon, of course he has bad games and goes through spells shere its not clicking for him but over 100 games hes out performed some of the greatest players ever to pull on a red shirt.

Yeah, arguably he would ideally do it for the next three seasons too, and join the genuine legends, but he is already one really. What a player, what a goal scorer.

Never fails to amaze me how some people undervalue how important someone who can score goals is

I usually do a good job of ignoring your trolling, but let's have it.

Do you genuinely think that Salah and Mane's amazing goalscoring stats have nothing to do with the way Firminho plays?

I know, I find it frustrating, but yesterday he did lay two very good passes for Milner and Firminho - long range ones, I think sometimes he really struggles to pass under pressure and it is noticeable, but what can you say when he has so many assists, and goals ? - you just got to let these faults go.

Just to clarify, that's the best ever first 100 return. Roger Hunt second with 68. Torres is fifth not second.

I fucking hate these premier league only lists.
And that's with teams defending against him like this...

Absolutely - they are virtually on top of him, behind him, in front of him and if they could dig a tunnel under the pitch they would be waiting underneath him too.

Also one thing about the Lovren hate that took place against Watford that really pissed me off was how everyone was having a go at him for the way he was holding Troy Deeney, with arms around him in the penalty area. Well Salah has had that treatment constantly this season in the penalty box and no ref has given him a penalty even in cases where he has been bought down.

Salah has his own rules. After that first exceptional season players started pretty much kicking him, wrestling with him, & hanging off him, & they almost never get penalised.

So he has built himself into that fucking adonis we saw whip his top off a few weeks ago, that can shrug players off him, outmuscle almost anyone, & still come out with the ball so often.

Yet he still scores a remarkable amount of goals, as well as a record number of assists for a forward who also scores so many.

Some people think this is tennis and Salah is doing it all by himself, when in reality he has greatly benefited from this team making him the focal point of the offense. He's the one with the least defensive duties so he's usually the one furthest up the pitch when we have/recover the ball, takes PKs when Milner is not on the pitch, and is not uncommon late in the game when we're defending a lead for him to play centrally hanging out by the center circle hunting for the long ball and counter attack. He is very one dimensional, but the one thing he does, score goals, he does very well and no one cannot argue against.

He's only got one less assist than Mane and Firmino, and has scored twice as many goals as Firmino.

One dimensional?!

Fuck me. That's so off the mark it's not even on the right fucking page.

Fucking hell.

The mid air flick he did to frim on Saturday right in front of me was fucking wonderful. I mean perfect. Wasn't even on match of the day. The pass to frim from a similar spot that he wanged over was ace too. Should have been another assist. He's a great footballer, one of the very best in the world, definitely in our top ten ever, probably top five.

Salah is amazing, you can probably pick holes in how rounded every strikers game is, but ultimately they will be judged on goals and silverware.

A Champions League winner, a Premiership title winner, highest tally of goals in first 100 games compared to any other Liverpool player. What else can he do?

Try to attribute it to someone else, try to be selective about who he can be compared to, his passing is shite, blah blah.

He's fucking brilliant and it's been a pleasure to have him as part of this fantastic era, that he's played such a crucial role in.

Fondest memory so far of Salah was that goal against Arsenal in 17/18. Wins header in our half and runs the length of the pitch to slot it home.

Having the arrogance and confidence to that in his first few games was sublime.

Criminally undervalued amongst alot of the fanbase in my view. One of the best we'll ever see in Liverpool Red.

Walks in to pretty much every team in the world and has pulled us out the shit plenty of times. What a player.

He is brilliant, and he's breaking all the goalscoring records, but on the very small sample size it does look like his scoring rate is slowing.

League goals have gone 32>22>16*
Total goals have gone 44>27>20*

*current season so far.

Can't believe he's only 2nd to Shearer in the premier league first 100 (70 vs 78), and that he's infront of all our legends for the the first 100 games. Crazy.

I do wonder what Suarez's numbers over the same period would have been if he had been getting the service Salah gets, he had to do so much work himself with a lot of his goals, and he's only 8 goals behind Salah in the first 100 games.

Suarez was playing in one of our most potent attacking triumvirates in our history. I don't think the addition of Trent and Robbo would add that much more to his tally, especially when a lot of his goals were self made anyway

Salah is slowing down because he's getting increasingly marked out of games. Add in Trent being on fire for 2 years, our right side is getting closed down like a mother fucker.

Why do you think that is, when he has the numbers to show for it...70 goals in 100 league games is something no other will do.

It's a combo of jerky knees and short memories. The mere fact that he hasn't scored as many since as he did that first incredible season has prompted some, whether in the stands or in the media, to start thinking that he's maybe "losing it". Unfortunately thinking isn't high on these people's list of accomplishments. If you booted any of them up the @rse they wouldn't feel it till the following Thursday.
