– and Redknapp was so riled that midway through the second half he responded with what appeared to be an "up-yours" gesture that brought even more raucous denunciationfrom the fans.

Redknapp is believed to have snapped midway through the second half, making an angry gesture at the home fans.

When asked if had made an obscene gesture towards the Rovers fans, the Spurs boss tried his best to play down the row.

– he was apparently irritated enough to gesture towards the Rovers fans by the end of the game.

And, although otherwise content, he did react snappily to a question about the incident in the post-match press conference. "Did I make an obscene gesture?

If he did it will he be censured too?

Harry (not Kewell) did the bird flipping as well to the Oirish?

According to the BBC he raised his fist at them.

Raising the middle finger and the whole fist, what is the difference?

Fist = Defiance, Finger = Insult/Provocation.

Why did you spell "Irish" o-i-r-i-s-h?
[/quote]

Oh, is it a bad thing because I do hear some Irish calling themselves Oirish (as spoken).

No no. Its not a bad thing at all. I think its more likely to be used to describe someone who isnt from Ireland trying to do an Irish accent.

If you was in a Bar and some geezer raised a fist at you, you wouldn't feel insulted or intimidated?

Joey Jones used to raise his fist to the Kop everytime he came on the pitch, he got booked for it once in a European Game as soon as he walked on ......
