Hands up. I was totally wrong about Henderson and Lucas.

I've possibly been the most outspoken critic of Henderson on this board for the past couple of years. I have already admitted that I had it wrong and he's a good footballer, but going further than that, I think his sending off against Citeh might have been the reason we didn't win this title. He didn't put a foot wrong today, was perhaps our best player and I've never been as happy to be so wrong. In fact, I wasn't just wrong, I was a horrible cunt for the most part.

Similarly, with Lucas I was terribly wrong. I used to think he was shit. But if he was only shit, what adjectives could we use for actual proper dyed in the wool utter shite players such as Joe 'shit' Allen or Glen 'shit' Johnson? They're many leagues above Lucas in terms of talent and ability and yet we use the same word. It simply isn't fair. Lucas, like Henderson, had a massive role in these last three games and I don't think it's right to call someone so inept, so terrible, so utterly bereft of skill, simply, shit.

He's the sort of player you need in a title winning team, solid, not shit not brilliant, a workhorse who can chip in with a few. I still don't think he's worth what we paid for him, but he's a good player.
 
Henderson and allen are great but lack creativity in the middle, I dont really like seeing sterling in the middle, he's been decent but his pace is better out wide. Lucas should be a squad player for gerrard, he's decent in the DM role but shit everywhere else
 
If Henderson has a shit season next one will you tell everyone you were right after all?

I was wrong about those two, they are decent.

However, I was also wrong about Skrtel/Agger.

Agger was 21 when he was signed in 2006, Skrtel 23 when he joined in 2008.

I honestly thought that those two would be our own Adams/Keown rocks at the back throughout their prime for LFC.

Now're they're both about to enter their 30s, they're a bit 'meh' with limitations that will sadly never leave them. They have been good, and in some instances great, but not World Class as I had hoped 4-5 years ago.

In summary, fans don't know nuffink.
 
Henderson has been immense all season long.
Allen really stepped up when Henderson got sent off.
Lucas one half aside has been dire all season and needs to be sold.
 
We need another player like Henderson. We should bin Lucas and buy two players for midfield. Someone who can compete with Henderson, along with a decent young DM who can learn from Gerrard and start taking minutes off him.
 
Cripes, it's not like SCM to overreact and either write someone off or label them heroes after a bad performance or two.

Let me remind you, we were top of the league at Christmas - and Lucas had started every game. Since then he's been in and out of the side due to injury and Gerrard's form. When back in, he's played out of position, still made some superb cameo's - Stoke away, West Ham away, etc. - and been at fault for zero in our run-in.

But I understand the need for a scapegoat. I understand it cos most of you have no fucking idea what happens on a football pitch. I read the bile that was coming out at half-time yesterday; 'Take Johnson off!' 'Bring Countinho on!' times fucking infinity. It was a competition as to who could say it the loudest. Not one post about how we should alter shape or tactics to win the game. Because let's face it - none of you know how that's done do you? So we get unending pages of "Johnson's fucking shite" or this bollocks thread which amounts to a rather inglorious attempt at finding humour in a post-match 'analysis'.

Why couldn't we break through Newcastle's deep lying midfield yesterday? Cos someone who wasn't on the pitch is shit.

I can't wait for the world cup to come any sooner.

Not because I care about the WC - no i don't this time round cos it's been probably the most corrupt, most deaths-incurred, stupid WC i've ever seen - but because this site will be littered with threads blaming and making scapegoats of every single personnel in the club, probably including the tea-lady too.

The injury two seasons ago? Or the injury last season? Or this seasons injury? I don't hate Lucas, I've always thought him to be an average player who had one excellent season for us. But he offers nothing now except giving stupid fouls away in dangerous positions. Is that down to the constant injuries hampering any chance of him building up some form of consistency? I don't know. If we could bring in a top notch DM I'd sell him.
