Grobbelaar lays blame on Mignolet.

"Not even close" is OTT for my money. When Grobbelaar was on his game some of his saves were extraordinary, e.g.the potential own goal he saved from Jocky in the first Merseyside Cup Final which was shooting towards his top right corner - when he stopped that ball going in, he was parallel with the crossbar and very nearly as high. I don't think either Clem or Reina would have kept that one out.

Was that the 1986 Cup Final?

Grobs was amazing on his day. And he was a character. Supremely confident. Yeas, he made some major blunders, and did some crazily risky things as a keeper, but he was tremendous for me. I loved him. For the wobbily legs routine alone, by which he won us not only one peno shoot out to get big ears, but through his example, another one, I still love him. I also deplore him.

This for me too... he was a class goaly IMO.

Its a poorly timed interview however, even if I agree with a lot of what he says. Migs form has picked up lately also... I hope he can iron out the weaknesses in his game.

The "Grobble Wobble" while many will say it was legendary, and it probably did put the kick-taker off somewhat, was the the fucking single most stupid looking thing I ever saw.

The key word is "looking". In actual fact it was anything but stupid. Penalty shootouts are won in the mind at least as much as on the pitch.

Totally unhelpful interview at his stage of the season.

Irrespective of whether he makes valid points or not, it's potentially damaging to our keeper's confidence and our title challenge.

He can fuck right off.

Yep, thats my thought aswell. He might have been a classy keeper and I know he was a good bloke as he was one of the coaches at a youth training camp I attended back in the day.

But to make these comments 4 games from a potential title is beyond stupid.
Say something supportive or shut the fuck up.

They're all over for the charity match on Monday, so loads of reporters are grabbing interviews with them and they've asked him about Mignolet. But as you say, it's a silly comment to make.
