I've got Bruce in there ahead of Clem simply for his athleticism and Clem ahead of Pepe for.. actually I've got no good reason for that - it could have gone either way.

Babbel at RB - one of the most unfortunate situation for mine - he could have been a kop legend had it not been for his health.

Lawrenson will always be a legend but I think Sami was a more commanding presence and his passing over the last 5 years of his career was freakish. He and Hansen would possibly have been the greatest CB pairing ever.

Keegan remains one of my favourite all time players - worked harder than Heighway IMO and had more to his game.

Wanted to put Molby in but went with a more recent player in Xabi. Again, not sure I could convincingly argue that one either.

Beardo picks himself and would probably consider himself a little unlucky not to have a starting spot.

The hardest choices were up front IMO. Rush and Kenny were just sublime but misses the big man Kenny played so well with. Fowler, Aldo, Owen; three of our absolute all time greats but I went for Torres. I think his form over those two seasons put him top 2 strikers in the world for 24 months. I don't think the other three ever actually managed that at any point so - despite his treachery - Torres got the nod.

Players I've seen:

Grobelaar

Nicol Lawrenson Hansen Kennedy

McDermott Souness Gerrard Barnes

Dalglish Rush

(I think, prob missed someone).

Young people is the answer Mark. Young people.

He's a fucking big I am, I hate the whole era and how players have come out of it with platitudes that they don't deserve. McAteer gets ripped more than most of them and he was one of the few who gave his all, actually looked like he gave a fuck and had his career mercilessly ruined by being played in a role that was totally uncomfortable for him. Worst thing was, throughout Evans' reign we needed a defensive midfielder and he probably could have done the job had he been played there from the off.

GRRrrrrrrr. Macca can go fuck, when you needed him most he was Mr Invisible.

Regardless of what you think of him and the way he left, McManaman was a terrific footballer who's criminally underrated on here.
