Great recent pic of Liverpool legends

I tried some Guinness when I was in Ghana, and it was nothing like Guinness. Quite sweet.
From what I've heard, the Guinness they drink in Africa is a lot stronger than the normal stuff. Back in the day, it was brewed to be stronger so it would survive the voyage better. It became popular so Guinness eventually built a brewery there.

It is both sweeter and 7.5%. Think the brewery closed out in Nigeria but the Foreign Extra is still made. It's nice - more chocolatey but still recognisable as Guinness.

I went to this bar in Liverpool called Pink. Is it still there

That was a bad gay bar that. I used to end up in there about 4am most weekends trying to pull birds who hang around with gays. Get in with the gays and you get in with the birds.

Its gone now, its still a good bar. Called Wall of Fame now, they have a live band on every night.

Yes, that was my M.O. too.
Of course, never worked. A couple of scousers I met at the Bordeaux away took me there.
The only time we even got close to scoring was when we met others who were visiting the city.
One time a hen-do from Newcastle. Two sister, one got all the attention, but the other one was the catch, I could tell.
The other time some single, or not, mums from North Wales. We backed out of that one.

I guess I will have to settle for triple whiskeys in the Poste House now then.

In Uganda they had it in small bottles, and it was much more expensive ofc. Locals in the countryside bought it to show off. Of course, then they would have to suck a piece of cloth for food the next week.

I gave up drinking (regular) Guinness when I got bored of examining black turds the morning after ... also I found that Guinness and wine gave me the mother of all hangovers, even if I didn't get pissed.

Did once have a corporate do in the Storehouse, where our group had a private bar and a tasting of different types of Guinness (including the export). Was introduced to Guinness black lager there, and loved it - great for summer parties/barbecues. At the time it was only available in the US ...

And, of course, Guinness created Hop House 13, which is truly boss

A man who has become bored of examining black turds is bored of life.

Guinness gave me the mother of all hangovers when we won the UEFA Cup. I’d caned it for about 10 hours straight. Had about a dozen trips to the bogs the next day.

Don't mess with West Africans and their Guinness, they love it! My Ghanaian mother isn't really big into drinking but when I was young I remember she would occasionally send me out to pick up a Guinness from the off licence as Guinness goes down well with fufu lol

I tried fufu when I was in Ghana. It was quite nice, but it lay on my stomach like lead! While I was in Takoradi I mainly ate prawns and yam chips. 🙂

(My Ghanaian colleagues worked out that my name in Fanti is Kweku Penyin by the way).
