Really? Why do you say that Hansern?
Because obviously a footballer refusing to take the easy opportunity to provide a 6 word endorsement of his agents soothing words about staying at the club is of no concern whatsoever, even when it comes at this incredibly troubled time.

Just rant "paper talk RAAA" at the top of your voice, and ignore the very obviously worrying signs in front of you.

Torres still coy on future

“The more important thing for me now is the World Cup. My future is the World Cup, we’ll see later,†Torres told Sky Sports News.

“My future now and hopefully the next two months is Spain and the World Cup, it’s nothing later than that.â€

When asked directly about the quotes attributed to his agent saying that he would stay at Liverpool next season, Torres remained coy on the issue.

“I didn’t read anything at all.â€

------------

He's acting like a proper cunt.

Someone has to say it.

Personally I want him to give us another year. He owes us that much considering his injuries.

Funny what 12 months can do - From weekly wank fests over the club to the past month of non-comment and bullet dodging.

Because it's probably another article were they've left out parts of the content, like they did with Stevie.

And Fernando probably wants to see who we buy and whats happening on the owner front. But both Pepe and his agent has said he wants to stay, so when Torres is being all cryptic about it, I'm not really that bothered.

I like this - its like a 180 degree reversal of what people normally argue, and its refreshing.

Normally the line is, "dont listen to all the bollocks other people spout, lets wait for the man himself to give an interview and make our own minds up". Here we've gone for "dont worry about the interview given by the man himself, believe all the other stuff different people have said".

Such blind optimism is normally missing on SCM.

Until you actually read or hear him say I want to leave, it doesn't really matter does it?

And for the blind optimism crap, I'm just trying to see things without the normal fucking glasses everyone else is uses. Gerrard came across as like he wanted to leave, but bits of that interview was missing, VERY crucial ones aswell.

So excuse me for not being overly anxious about an article about Fernando being focused on WC for now. That only a good thing for us, as it gives us 2 months to actually do something off the field.

You've been whooshed recently, right Bunnyman?
Perhaps you have some tips for me in this dark time?

It really depends how the question was asked and what it was I suppose.
If the journalist asked something like....... "can you confirm the quotes from your agent José Antonio Peton yesterday? "
"I didn't read them," would seem a fairly innocuous answer, as he probably wouldn't have.

If the question was.

"José Antonio Peton says you are staying at Anfield is that right"
"I didn't read them," might be a little more concerning

The rest is stock answer on anything from players involved in the WC

regards

Such a possibility appeared less likely after José Antonio Peton, Torres' agent, yesterday told Punto Radio in Spain that his client "will continue at Liverpool next season", but the man himself was less forthcoming in his commitment when speaking at Spain's World Cup training camp this morning. Torres suggested that the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the ownership of Liverpool would play a part in his decision.

"I didn't read them," said Torres when asked by the Guardian about Peton's remarks. "The most important thing for me now is the World Cup. My future is the World Cup and then we'll see later. For now and hopefully for the next two months the only thing I am thinking about and talking about is the World Cup."

That is NOT being coy, nor evasive, nor suggesting he'll be moving after the tournament.

Neither is Steven Gerrard doing the exact same thing.

If we were in pre-season training & reporters asked about the World Cup, I'd expect them to say they were concentrating only the Premiership season, not the World cup.

They're simply doing as they're told. Not being drawn into talking about their club whilst away with their country.

Just read your post Vlad, that's how I read his comments. Unless they told him what the comments were, he wouldnt say anything about them. Even if he did read them, I'd be reluctant to endorse them in case there was more said that was less than positive.

I cant believe how many of you are getting so fucking riled over these blatantly obvious dirty paper tricks.
I can't keep track over who is riled about what anymore
It's a case of take your pick about what you want to be stressed over. Personally, I'm just gonna let it role now, qui sera sera.

That said, they're all fucking mercenary cunts.

I'm riled about Fernando's hair.
In a good or bad way SG?

All the seeds of doubt are being sown by the media. That's how they sell papers.

Maybe I'm an optimist or just plain delusional but I believe that both Gerrard and Torres will remain with us.

He is being a bit of a bitch about it, it would have been easy for him to just say he was staying as far as he was concern and then insisted they went back to talking to him about the WC. He's sat in a room full of press, he knows what whatever he's gonna say is gonna be all over the net and papers.

I can't help but feel really negative towards him at the moment.

Kind of agreeing with you, he could have at least lied. He's been great to us but also we been good to him, especially since he spends half the time fkcing injured. Nice to see he manage to sign a new deal last year and take his wages upto. He's certianly changed his tune regarding lfc from last year, every week there would be a story about how much he loves lfc. Now I know why some people when they grow older become dillusioned with the way football is now.
If you worked for a bunch of complete cunts you'd probably be pissed off too.
Yes I know but that may change soon or may not but what about all the stuff about how much he loved us, so easily heads are turned nowadays. If he does leave then won't be anything more another player who came and played LFC, will never be considered anywhere near a legend.
