Gravenberch

I don't think we are that hot on this lad.
Too much media talk, which probably comes from his camp.

Feels to me like one of those trailing legs we keep dangling hoping for contact, contact being a cheap and easy deal. Any big fee or competition we walk imo, so totally agree on not being that hot on him.

I don't know much about Gravenberch but I do know we tried to sign him when he went to Bayern and we've scouted him for ages. No idea where he fits.

yeah, it has dragged on too long for us to be seriously into him

he are keeping him on grass

Very tidy player who’s found game time hard to come by because Kimmich and Goretszka are 2 of the worlds best in their position and are never injured.

Him now and Andre in Jan would set our midfield for the next 5-6 years.

This signing does not excite me at all, the only thing good about it is that he is U21 and therefore don't count as a human being in our squad. I still want a real active pacey 6, not just steady Endo.

Wow - this is amazing sounds like the same shit we have heard for the last 4 weeks regarding this player. Can't wait for this to fail, and we give out the speech "Hey we tried but guess what we fucked it up AGAIN" - I moan about sustained success, but this transfer window shall be known as the sustained fuckups window. Relax everyone, and enjoy the ballshit ride.

Gravenberch is a decent player with a high ceiling.

Having Klopp, and having Gakpo+VVD at the club, might help him realise some of this undoubted potential.

As much as I love the class of Macca, Almiron kind of showed he does lack a bit of athleticism (though his mindset/intensity is outstanding).

RG doesn't lack athleticism, but he seems to swan around and although the stats says he covers a lot of ground, it's usually done at a leisurely pace. He seems to lack the intensity/mindset of a Macca (or typical Klopp-type player).

If Jurgen is able to get him to intelligently press (with intensity) and tackle (when he gets there), he'll be quite some player.

Are we playing him as DM?

"He has a lot of capabilities, especially in an attacking sense, but he understands hard work,” Ten Hag previously analysed of Gravenberch, and it is a succinct description.

Physically imposing, he is agile, as well as an elite ball carrier and receiver. Having largely operated on the left side of a double pivot, Gravenberch can play across midfield and is very active at link-up in the final third.

A progressive passer that instigates in the build-up phase, he uses his body cleverly to either disguise where he wants to supply the ball or to protect possession.

Gravenberch’s ability to shield, roll his marker and drive into space has been noted by new Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel who highlighted the youngster can “turn and dribble very well”.

Brian Tevreden, who promoted a 12-year-old Gravenberch to the Ajax U15s, believes he has shades of Paul Pogba to his game.

"Physically, I see Frank Rijkaard because he’s tall and very strong. But technically, I would say he's a better version of Pogba in his best days at Juventus, in terms of his technique and his presence on the pitch," Tevreden said. “He's very dominant like Pogba was, and that's what I see in Ryan."

Why do i feel the same way about this as United fans do about Mount even though i don’t know a thing about the guy?

Firstly, just because he is currently based in Germany, there is no expectation that we pay him anything other than pounds sterling when he comes to Liverpool; secondly - get with the times, DM was replaced with euros about 20 odd years ago.
Always with the puns. Keep it up. Lol

I much prefer any Thuram or Doucore over him but if Klopp believes he can change this man with his love in his potential then so be it. At least we're finally moving

I don't get it. We had at least 2-3 weeks since the Caicedo/Lavia debacle and yet we needed to wait till the last minute to go after a target we wanted all summer.
