Liverpool City Council now want to charge each youth team £400 a season for the privilege of using their shitty mud sodden pitches that you can guarantee are out of action for about 6 weeks each year because they're unplayable. This is on top of the £100 the league already charges to cover the cost of trophies etc.

Cheeky bastards.

Fuck me. Yet you still find dickheads saying the tories being in power makes no difference to anything.

Approx half the leisure centres are closing within the next two years as well.

The current charge by the way is £0. My lad's team plays Saturday and Sunday. It might come to it that they can only play on one of those days from next season. If there were plans to,use the money to improve the facilities you could sort of understand it but nowt. They don't even have anywhere to get changed. When you consider how many age groups there are (U7 upto U16), probably about 12 teams per age group, about 8 major leagues (a conservative estimate), all playing two days a week that's a fair old whack.

This is the same Council who have state of the art pitches and facilities in Walton Hall park but won't allow anyone to use them apart from Liverpool Boys and Merseyside Boys.
