"ESPN" said:
Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero could leave the Bernabeu for Liverpool, according to his agent.

Despite his talent, Granero has found first-team opportunities difficult to come by at Real this season - the former Spain Under-21 international facing stiff competition from Mesut Ozil and Kaka in his favoured attacking midfield role.

And while Liverpool also currently have a host of midfield options, his agent Teofilo Lazaro believes the Spaniard would be interested in a move to Anfield.

"He's finding his chances limited at Real. He's keen for a move away - possibly to Liverpool," Lazaro told the International Business Times. "If he can't play at Madrid then he'll play somewhere else. It's as simple as that."

Since Kenny Dalglish was reappointed Liverpool's manager in January 2011, he has signed Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson to strengthen the club's midfield options. It remains unclear how interested the Merseyside club would be in moving for Granero.

From what little i saw of him last season he plays more of a Steven Gerard role than a Lucas Leiva one.

Wooo! I'd luv it. I've been wanting him to sign for us 2-3 years now. A hard working creative midfielder. Sign!!!

It's embarrassing that we sell them one of our best players and in return we get a reject.

I don't get your point Modo, just because Madrid don't want him it doesn't automatically make him shit or a reject, the Alonso thing is more than water under the bridge and he wanted to go in the end, so..

I'm not being serious, it just bothers me that those cuntish teams like Barca and Real can unsettle our best players and steal them. Sure I would have loved to get Robben, VDV, Sneijeder etc but I don't believe Granero belongs in that echelon.

Yeah, he's a very good player. Real Madrid have bought a lot of players in his position, but that doesnt make him shite.

Can be our VDV signing.

I'm sure there are plenty of other teams in England / Europe than could say the same about us (wooing / bidding for players they don't actually want to sell). Fact is if a top team comes calling then players will want to move, for Latin players then Real / Barca are the pinnacle so it's understandable, at least to me.

Yeah it's only what we've done to other teams, it does still fuck me off though, you know Suarez will end up with one of them eventually.

Lucky for us eh that everyone else we have is not worth losing sleep over!

Yeah we might do it to other teams like Blackpool recently or maybe even Villa but aren't we supposed to be competing with them?
A few years ago we beat Barca at the Nou Camp and pulled a double on Madrid.
Makes me want to cry.

What's your point? You don't want "rejects" that actually could improve us. You don't like clubs tapping players up (which includes us). Do you want us to stick with players who wants to leave? Stop crying about Alonso.

Ha...

Well, I think I said in the other thread that he's a decent player. Versatile midfielder that has been played all over the park practically in the last couple years. He's got a good brain on him, decent technique, passing and all that. He's the kind of player Wenger often buys... in fact Arsenal are often linked with him.

I wouldn't be averse to us buying him providing we get him for a good price, which I see being around 6-8M. The only question is what for? We have plenty of midfielders already who probably aren't going anywhere any time soon (bar Maxi), which only really leaves the wide positions open and we need some genuine flair there, not a player like Granero. Still, he should make an able squad player if and when the likes of Maxi and Kuyt make way.

He can play so I reckon you'd like him but he's not going to blow us away a la Suarez or Torres, nah.

I'd take someone like Granero over a chump like Downing any day of the week though.

He'd be our second best midfielder after Gerrard (which sadly perhaps isn't saylng much). He would be a perfect match. Can't see Kenny going for another midfielder though.

Is he better than Adam?

Balague has said, “Granero is an interesting one because he would love to go to Liverpool; he almost signed for them under Rafa Benitez. The problem is that although two weeks ago Real were thinking about letting him leave, now Jose Mourinho has said: ‘(Sami) Khedira’s injured and I want you to stay’. Now he’s staying.”

Fucking shit (if true)! Sign the fucker.

He looked an absolute storming talent during his days with Getafe a few years back but admittedly haven't seen much of him of late but it seems his developments has been put on hold.

However I still think he'd be a very good buy mainly based on how good he looked for Getafe and as he's still young I wouldn't mind him at all. Would definitely improve our squad without having to dig deep.

Loan move for Granero according to GOAL.com and the daily mail.
[/quote]

loan moves are good. our loan move for nico was excellent.

i'd really like us to do this deal . Ok he's not going to be of world class level but he'd be a very smart signing and add alot to the starting line up . Obviously loan with option to buy would be perfect to see how he settles .

Do it .
