Nice article in the Echo today on John Arne Riise and how much he's looking forward to returning to the city for the charity game.

Always liked this player and remember him for the cross for Gerrard's goal to mark the beginning of those six crazy minutes but most of all for the sheer violence of a certain free kick vs Utd. Have a look, boys.

I've seen that goal so many times that it's actually begun to overwrite my memory of seeing it in person.

Still haven't tired of it though.

Brilliant isn't it? I don't think I've seen many so cleanly and powerfully struck, I loved JAR.

That Riise goal against the Mancs was a Saturday morning kick off wasn't it?

An outrageous strike from JAR.

I listened to that Johnny Rockets goal on the Radio, and it was even amazing via the soundwaves. The radio jumped off the ground when he walloped it.

I loved that goal but I cant help thinking if he hadnt scored it it might have saved us 6 years of him blazing strikes over the bar week in week out.

'Let Johnny hit it, member that time half a decade ago he caught one nice'

He hit scored some great goals after that, but not many freekicks.

He was rubbish at free kicks. Scored what 2 out about 50 goes.

He could score a belter though and the video of all his goals is incredible to look at. Nearly every goal was either a rocket or a bullet across the keeper into the corner.
