it's amazing how redknapp achieves the miracle of looking like his dad and being handsome at the same time.

The Redknapp face is like a wax sculpture left by a radiator. It gradually melts into something repulsive. Jamie looks worse each time he's on TV. (Everyone does, but it's tragic if you look good early on.)

There are various shades of opinion about the whole thing. I'm one of the many who despise the way the guy behaved, not just when he left but also for some time beforehand. There's no real point in hating the man himself though.

I was only a kid watching Mcmanman, naive to all the real traumas of football, so it's impossible for me to hate the guy.

I loved watching him in a red shirt.

Lol. (not so) Great pic!!

I remember going "My Redders is SO much better than your Scholes, you wait until he comes back, he'll prove me right.."

And he never did..

I used to love Jamie Redknapp at that time. Now I think he's a babbling idiot and could probably quite happily slap him in the face.

- a trio of cricketeers enjoys a chilled cup of Pimm's after a good day of batting and snorting.

Oh dear. That reminds me of when Stan Collymore was on one of the Footballers Cribs type shows (not sure it was actually that, think it was on another channel).
For anyone who didn't see it he has a room painted all black with just that white site hung up in the middle. The flower is still on the suit and he waters it every day.

I think Stan was having a few problems at the time.

As opposed to his usual clear headed state Richey? 😉

I remember a radio phone in some years ago with stan as the host and he was taking calls in regards to how sven would approach the sweden game, anyway a caller rings and and says 'I think you should be england manager, stan' to which stan feeling a bit chuffed says 'really?!' and the guy on the phone says 'yeah, you know how to beat swedes' to which stan promptly cuts him off and moves swiftly onto the next subject

ha ha that was fucking classic ;D

Very true! However I did shock me that he was that much of a loon.

It is funny hearing him on the radio. There was another time when he was reporting on a game and they went to him for team news or something. The presenter (that cunt Durham I think) casually mentioned something that Carragher had said about Collymore in his book, obviously hoping for a reaction. Not sure he was quite prepared for the one he got!
Collymore went absolutely mental and bleated on for a good 10 minutes about Carragher and about how he was treated at Liverpool etc etc.
He really is someone who cannot take even the mildest of criticism to the point of becoming seriously unstable.

I've posted about this a few times, but on the Radio City Phone-In years ago a guy rang in and said "You know what, I was sat on the kop today watching that Jamie Redknapp and I couldn't help thinking to myself........... He must have a fucking big cock to be shaggin that Louise!!"

Ditto.

I just remember he was boss on the pitch.

When he wanted to be. Increasingly in his last 18 months or so, he couldn't be bothered and wanted the ball served up to him on a silver plate. Such a waste of a real talent and a tremendous engine - this after he had had the cheek to get naffed off by the LFC board wanting to sell his sorry @rse.

Pretty much JJ. He really soured what was a great love affair with the fans during those last two years.

He was a great player though, even if his goal return and end product was often inconsistent, he was definitely a bit of a maverick, some of the things he used to do were amazing. Does anyone remember his volley from just beyond the halfway line against Spurs (I think it was Spurs)? A couple of inches away from pissing all over Beckham's effort.
