I'm hoping a deal gets done but we've been here many times before haven't we?

[/quote]

Yep, and a deal done does not mean a spade in the ground either.

Look, Babel is inconsistent, but I don't think there's any need for death threats.

Gillett confirms Saudi’s are not buying Liverpool Article added: October 16th, 2009

Liverpool co-owner George Gillett has confirmed that there are no talks underway which would lead to Prince Faisal of Saudi Arabia buying a stake in the club.

It had been reported recently that Gillett was ready to sell his 50% stake in the club to the Prince and his Saudi bases investment group, F6.

But the Prince denied yesterday that his communication with Gillett was part of a deal to buy into Liverpool, and today Gillett confirmed the same, adding that the only business deal he has with the Prince is into establishing Liverpool Football Club branded sports academies in Saudi Arabia.

In a short statement Gillett announced, “We – and the Prince supports this – categorically deny we had any conversation along those lines. The purpose of my trip is to talk about Liverpool football academies and stock car racing.

“We may discuss [buying into Liverpool] at some point in the future. But I say again that is not on our agenda. There have been no discussions.”

More worryingly, it is possible the Arabs have retreated from a position where they wanted to buy a stake, because they've realised they'd need to work with a couple of complete muppets.

Err why would someone who knows nothing about 'Soccer' go and see a high ranking official about setting up academies?

Moneymaking opportunity. Nothing wrong with that. I'm not H and G's biggest fan either, but let's not jump on everything they do just on principle.

To be fair Saudi Arabia is a well known hotbed for footballing talent, no doubt there are many gems to be found. I mean just take a look at . . . .

Clearly he's gone over there for there for the dollar

Hahaha. Exactly, I'm glad that our focus appears to be tapping in to the obviously prosperous Saudi youth market.

Im with Doctor Mac on this one, my worry is that the Prince has been put off from buying in once he has seen the mess we are in. Gillette just seems to get slimier by the minute.

What's the point in having an 'ignore user' function?

Why can't people just *gasp* ignore the user? What sort of tools are sitting there at their computer thinking 'Christ, there's Rage, and he's posting stuff. Arghhhhhhhhhh, the button, the button, where's my ignore button!'?

Ha, that's exactly what I always think when it's requested.

Plus, surely if other people then debate with them, the thread will look bizarre, cos you'll be seeing one half of an argument. Like watching a schizophrenic sitting in a bathtub shouting at the taps.

Can't we just fuck Ryan and Rage off and save all the brain power about ignore user buttons?

regards

(not that I actually mind Rage that much)

It's hardly to describe how much joy and pride I take in knowing that I annoy you.

Been away for a week's holiday with the missus and her family.

The one filled with Mancs.

They've found the weekend very satisfying and have been asking me for my 'views'; just like the final weekend last season when I was hiding myself away from the same fuckers who wanted to share their joy at no. 18 with me.

And hark !

As I type this, another one of her Uncles is approaching me at the computer wanting to talk to me about Sunderland.

Whilst I fend him off, may I confirm that this story was a pile of bollocks?

Regrettably not, Avvy. What makes it worse is that some idiot from our own ranks threw the damn thing on to the pitch in the first place. Under the rules the goal shouldn't have been given and a dropped ball should have resulted, but the fact remains we were second best on the day.

I think he was talking about the NOTW story, which is not exactly bollocks, but nothing new and extremely sensationalised. The same kind of nightmare scenarios could be made about Man Utd and their debts.
