Well what a thread this was 😉

*facepalm*

It says on .tv that Segura is the new reserve coach ... I must have missed this, but wasn't McMahon really highly rated and doing a good job? Is Borrel still the u18 coach?

interesting lineup

Liverpool Reserves: Hansen, Mendy, Cooper (Suso 57), Sama, Wisdom (Poor 68), Thomas, Roberts, Irwin, Silva, Ince, Saric (Ngoo 80). Subs: Chamberlain, Kohlert.

I'm not sure Sama or Silva had palyed for the Reserves before , ok could just be a lack of numbers at the moment or maybe the plan is to fast track some of these U18s in .

So suso looked better today than he did for the U18s ?

Still don't get what happening with thomas ince , he really should be out on loan somewhere , guess he'll be leaving in the summer .

The big problem with the youths , regardless of skill, is their size.
Tom Ince has great dribbling skills and is quite pacy, but he's built like a twig.
Suso is small.
Raheem is small.
So is Flanagan and Robinson.

I know for a fact that Man U put a lot of focus on weight training and the size difference between the players in the Fa youth cup was very apparent. They out-muscled us at times in that game and they are basically the same age. Their midfielder Tunnicliff was twice the size of Coady it seemed.
Look at Nani, Ronaldo and the Da Silva twins. Scrawny now they're built like a brick shithouse.
The players have to get bigger and stronger if they want to make it the premier league.

Sure we do have a couple of big players as well. Ngoo, Sama, Wisdom and Coady to a certain extent.
But the most talented ones bar Coady are scrawny and small.

Good job we signed Carroll then...

He'll add some much needed strength.
