Gerrads Torres combo was set up differently to Suarez Sturridge
Torres up top with Gerrard playing as a Second Striker/ Attacking Midfielder.
In the year we nearly won it, their link up play was devastating. A Joy to watch.
You had Gerrard with his distribution and runs into the box and Torres with his runs and sheer brilliance... Both offered goals, however we relied on Torres a wee much, but that season he really knew how to score. You felt he always had a goal in him every game. He won you matches single handed.
Suarez Sturridge on the other hand both play up top, drift out wide, switch positions. Both offer goals and Excellant link up play, and Suarez offers utter brilliance.. Sturridge can go quiet at times, but always seems have a goal in him.

GTA > SAS for me until they at least do it over a full season
gerrard and torres struggled with teams who came to defend far too often -- they were much better when games were stretched.
I'd rather play gta than watch football at times too pat

To think of We had won both those games, as on paper we should of Done. We would of won the league 🙁
It's not a fair comparison. Gerrard is still in the midfield for SAS and playing reasonably well too for his age.
Gerrard and Torres were awesome if the opposition rolled over and let us bum them. If they came out to defend they were not so good.
Suarez and Sturridge seem to be capable whatever the weather. Mainly due to Suarez making something out of nothing. Apart from against bastard arsenal of course.

I regularly watch that on a Saturday night with a beer. We have 'film night' with a curry & the projector on, when Bex goes to bed I put on either ufc, cl 2005 run games, fowlers hot 100 or that match.
I have a drink with a Utd fan occasionally & made him sit & watch it with me last year, watching his face during the match was boss.

I made darn sure I went to my favourite Indian place for a curry that night. The owners are friends of mine and two of them are Mancs. The third supports Tottenham and we had some sport with his bros that evening.
