Gerrard "got his hand held' by Lucas

Oh my Lord, is that the most laughable, cretinous statement ever written by Chalkboard Tactics Ryan?

Can I call him a cunt? Seems as he if he is.

It may have been, had that been what he said.

Apologies, I thought he was talking about Gerrard. Forgive me if I have a tendency to glaze over when reading some of his posts, or assume that he is talking bollocks again.

After tonight's quite decent performance, what do you think of swapping Gerrard and Aquilani, position wise?
Gerrard back in the middle with Mascherano, Aquilani behind Torres?
Said this ages ago. Would be the best move for both of them, and improve our spine no end.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I'm convinced Aquilani has more natural ability between the lines than Gerrard, who has done excellently behind Torres, but doesn't convince me behind anyone else.
...and that´s the truth. Win/win imo.

Its not win / win if SG scores less and Aquaman scores a few more than none. One of these players has a track record of scoring the guts of 20 goals in a season in a forward position. The other has not.

Purple Aqui isn't a goalscorer
Agree. Nor should Gerrard be dicked about to accommodate him. We lost Alonso and got Aqua to play centre mid, surely? If he doesn't cut it there, we need someone else who will.

He should feel at home

regards

I don't see why it has to be set in stone. We could simply try both combinations and see which works best. We could also play a flexible formation whereby their roles are interchangeable.

I doubt we will, but it's an option.

We could play a 4-1-4-1 formation at home, with masher sweeping between the lines behind a midfield 4. so-

Torres

Riera/Yossi Aquaman SG Kuyt/Yossi/Maxi

Masher

I got the feeling that this was the original idea in bringing Aqua here, but who know?

Is correct. Rafa's said as much when we signed him. Del's right, too - they should be able to interchange and be fairly fluid in attack.
