he does look and play a bit like duncan edwards, and now he is lying in a hospital bed under the impression he's going to be back playing again soon

I was out the other night talking aba this and it really don't look good, as FFF said no fucker knows the best course of action to treat this.

How about a surgeon?

Strange that we dont talk to the players and clubs in the NFL whose had the same injury, or we could of course have for all I know.

Brady had an infection like this after an ACL operation.

I doubt Duncan Edwards is under that impression.

Gerrard boost for Liverpool despite new injury scare for captain
By DOMINIC KING

Last updated at 10:42 PM on 31st July 2011

Liverpool are cautiously optimistic Steven Gerrard will be able to return to the club's Melwood training base before the end of the week to continue his rehabilitation from a groin problem.

The England midfielder was admitted to hospital for treatment with antibiotics over the weekend after an infection was detected in his groin.

Given the unusual and sensitive nature of the problem, there were initial concerns Gerrard had suffered a setback that would keep him out for an indefinite period.

It prompted Liverpool to issue a statement about their captain, in which they said the setback would delay Gerrard's return to action until September, meaning he will miss England's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales.

Liverpool would not have mentioned when they anticipated seeing Gerrard, 31, back if they or the player did not think it was a realistic timescale, so the fact September has been mooted is positive.

The last of the six appearances Gerrard made under Kenny Dalglish came in the 3-1 win over Manchester United on March 6.

Liverpool have flown to Norway for a friendly against Valerenga on Monday and it is expected an Anfield delegation, including managing director Ian Ayre, will visit the floral memorial outside Oslo cathedral to pay their respects to the 77 people who were killed in the July 22 terror attacks.

Gerrard 'stepping up' recovery

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will step up his comeback by returning to light training this week, with Martin Skrtel also returning.
Gerrard has not featured for the Reds since undergoing groin surgery in March and a scheduled return this month was postponed when he contracted an infection relating to the operation.

But the England international continues to be on target for his revised comeback date of mid-September and is ready to increase his training at Melwood.

"Stevie will be stepping up his recovery this week," said Kenny Dalglish.

Skrtel, absent throughout pre-season, is also back in training after a calf problem but Dalglish is waiting to discover the extent of Fabio Aurelio's Achilles problem
