Gerrard - Did he mean it?

I'd say cross because of the sheepish way in which he celebrated.

If he did in fact mean it, I take it back, and it should be up there for goal of the season.

Definitely a shot. He probably couldnt do it again though.

The position we were in in the match meant he could get away with trying something like that.

He's probably only said it was a cross as everyone would say he was talking crap it he said he meant it.

The difference is that version is just the hack's take on it. The story that Doc posted stated that Gerrard had admitted to some journos after the game that it had been a cross. There is a difference but until we here it from Gerrard, we're not going to know either way.

A reporter for the Independent's opinion that it was a shot. Now I'm going to take this really slow with you Akai so you can pick up the jist. The Guardian report suggested that Gerrard wasn't claiming it was a shot.

If it was a shot, we'd have heard a lot more about it by now and it'd be the nailed on winner for every goal of the season competition.
 
I think we all agree that it was "a beaut" regardless if it was intended
 
I think he thought someone would get on the end of it, but thought fuck it, i'm that good, i know it'll go in even if there's no contact.
