I’d rest Salah for this and Lovren.

I'd be inclined to start Gomez and if he does well play him next weekend. Keita is done here so I'd start Oxlade-Chamberlain.
I'm not quite there with Keita yet. Start him in this. A home game we should win comfortably. If he can't have a decent showing here, or if he goes off crying again, then yeah, he's a step closer to the door.
He is definitely in the last chance saloon. I still wouldn't read too much in to a Genk performance.
No player involved against Man City should play 90 mins.
Klopp's played Lovren in five of the last seven occasions we've played city (if my memory of the stat I heard last week is correct). Lovren will play at the weekend.I'd be inclined to start Gomez and if he does well play him next weekend. Keita is done here so I'd start Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Despite popular belief me neither. I’m praying he somehow turns the corner as we need him.
Probably.Nah, it's the CL, and we still have work to do to qualify. We'll put out most of our best team.

Keita isn't done here. It's not looking great, that's for damn sure, but no way I see klopp giving up on him yet, & I expect him to start this match.
Last chance saloon ? Haha
The same was said about Lallana before. Origi too. Hendo. Lovren. Where are they now ?
Goes to show us keyboard warriors and armchair critics really don't have much clue about what goes on in the club. Really.

Of course the counter argument to that is that by resting his ankle (and mind and the rest of his body) that will in itself sharpen him up if it puts him closer to 100%. We have a horrendous schedule ahead, when we get the opportunity to rest players we need to take it.I’d pretty much go with that.
The only issue I have is Salah - depends on the ankle - his confidence is low - so, if the ankle’s ok, I’d be tempted to start him and see if he can sharpen up.

I could even think about resting VvD too, he hasn't been at his world-beating best for the past few games. Gomez and Lovren start and we can see who deserves to play vs City.
Last chance in terms of being a regular first team player who holds down a starting place. Lallana, Origi and Lovren aren’t in that discussion
If the same principle was applied to you on this forum, you'd have been long gone DB. Like obliterated into oblivion.
Another "I'm a bigger fan than you" poster...obviously.Who the fuck is this guy?

I think having him rested for City has the potential for a bigger pay off. Worst case he occupies two defenders to free up Firmino and Mane
