An Italian footballer, playing as a midfielder for Serie A club Udinese. Usually a playmaker, D'Agostino is best known for his incisive passing and goals from midfield.
[edit] Club career
He was brought up in the Roma youth system and, in 2001, went to Bari with co-ownership rights as part of the deal that brought Antonio Cassano to Roma. He then came back to Roma for the 2003/2004 season but did not figure much[citation needed] and was sent to newly promoted Messina. In the two seasons at Messina he made 42 appearances and scored 4 goals, and was the one of the main reasons[citation needed] for the team's overachievements.[citation needed] In the summer of 2006 he was bought by Udinese.
D'Agostino insists on an Udinese stay. Despite interest from many clubs, the midfielder insists: “I am delighted to see my name linked to big clubs and I have to thank Udinese for this. Obviously I feel proud that there are several parties interested in me, but the Bianconeri are my only thought for now. There is a contract which ties me here for a long time and if I got to this point it’s because the club has had faith in me.â€[1]
He has a passion for horses, and has been quoted as saying that they are "best of all the animals".
