Had a quick look at the defence he was 'shielding' and it wasn't surprising to know where those players are plying their trade at now.

Ben Turner - Burton Albion
Steve Caulker - QPR
Kévin Théophile-Catherine - Saint-Étienne
Andrew Taylor - Wigan Athletic
Fábio - Cardiff City
Declan John - Cardiff City (loaned to League 1 clubs Barnsley and Chesterfield for the past 2 seasons)

1 season at Cardiff over his performances for the likes of Sevilla and Chile? Besides, it was his first season in English football.

Yeah, I think you could also put "defence" in quote marks.

Avoid Chilean players with the exception of Alexis Sanchez, Vidal, Bravo. They all look dynamite for their national teams and are not that good at the club level. They are like the anti-English team. They have managed to create a system for the national team where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

Vargas - journeyman striker in Europe with 2 goals in the last season in 25 games in Bundesliga. Scores at the rate of 1 in 1.5 for Chile. Poch, Valdivia, Diaz, Medel - all look world class for Chile but have very average club careers.

Medel has had good career with the exception of Cardiff mind, good at both Sevilla and Inter.

Here's a thread from last year when he was linked with us. Seems like a few people here (@FreshRed, @Gary25) liked how he looked at Cardiff and a few others (@Pesam, @Leo) thought he was poor. Predictably, @localny made a shit pun about his name and @King Binny posted the same picture with his passing stats with Inter...

I don't remember much about him in Cardiff, but they had a hopeless defense with or without him, so it's hard to judge a player in that situation. In contrast, Inter's defense was their strongest asset last season and helped them finish 2015 in first place (Napoli and Juve eventually overtook them in the 2nd half of the season). He always looks great playing for Chile though – that team is all fighters through and through, they bend but never break. Whether it's with Medel or somebody else, but we need to add this quality to this team – I'm happy to see that Klopp is thinking in this direction.

A shit pun? What is that? I have no understanding of the concept you cheeky monkey.

Edit: it made me laugh again
Post Edit; you liked it as well you flip flopping Meddler!
