Future Barca or Real players

Unfortunately many of our tops stars over the years have gone to Real or Barca.
Xabi, Mascherano, Owen, Macca, Suarez etc.

Which ones in our current squad do you think will end up in a Real or Barca kit?
I don't mean now, maybe when they're 28-29 and have won everything at LFC.

Szobo, if he continues to follow the Gerrard/ Lampard trajectory. If not one of the Spanish teams, he'll go to Bayern or Juve or something.

Macca. Top class South Americans tend to end up there.

Diaz, possibly this summer.

Trent obviously

I think Ali might go to Spain too.

Szobo in this kind of form reminds me a lot of Ballack, so yeah, it's not inconceivable that he would go at some point.

Agreed with the others too, Diaz will definitely go this Summer I reckon and Macca maybe in a couple of years. The thing is, for how great the three of them can be, I'm not getting too devastated over any of them going at some point, none of them are a Salah or VVD. We've replaced great players many times before.

Ali is the big one I reckon, he's going to be as difficult to replace as anyone (I know we've effectively replaced him, but time will tell if we've replaced him well).

1) Trent
2) Mac
3) Diaz
4) Konate

I'm hopeful the Dutch vibes will keep Grav here for a long time, plus he's on a hefty wage.

The others are due to SA background and in Konate cases it's more about his contract and RM need a CB and might want one who has tolerated playing with Trent before.

I don't really get the Diaz to Barca rumours. They don't need him really and even if they did, could they afford him?

I don't think we've got the sort of star players you're talking about. Trent is one and yeah he'll probably go there.

Diaz isn't good enough, Salah and VVD are too old. Gakpo, Szob, Mac Allister, Konate are all great but not individually brilliant enough to be obvious targets. I could just about see Gravenberch developing into that sort of player but he's got a way to go yet.

Can Barca afford Diaz?
Trent going is a blessing. Ali said he would stay until his contract finishes thats two years away. If this Georgian is any good, then Ali will be gone summer 2026. If he isn't you renew Ali's contract.
I could see Lex ending up at Real but it won't be cheap for them.
