Approx. this time last season, I said goodbye to the title when we pissed away three points at Wigan.
I also lost any confidence that Rafa had any clue how to win the title, when he took Steven Gerrard off to bring on Robbie Keane, with us desperately needing a goal in the remaining 6 minutes. That. to me, was the ultimate "f you" to the fans who had been questioning his tactics during last season's poor run.
Fast forward 12 months, and I have said goodbye to the European Cup next season when we pissed away ANY points at Wigan tonight.
I pray that it doesn't cost us the services of Gerrard and Torres to cover the money that we will NOT be brining in next season. I also pray that Rafa leaves TOMORROW, so that his replacement can have a month or two to size up the squad, and decide NOW what he wants for next season, not in late August, like Rafa did last year.
I used to enjoy watching LFC. Now it's utterly soul- destroying. I do it because my body doesn't know how not to. But, more often than not, it only serves to ruin my day.
