I didn't watch their game tonight for obvious reasons, but I said after the 1-0 win against Brum that they looked very very ordinary. Ronaldo's absence could well expose the lack of real invention in their CM.

They will win the majority of their matches and will challenge for the league, without a doubt. But they're definitely not the team they were two seasons ago.

They were creating plenty of chances but for poor finishing or lack of players in the box, the score could have been different. An example was when Rooney sent in a wicked cross that flashed past the post. In previous seasons, Ronaldo or Tevez would have been standing there to slot it home.

Owen was dog shit and Scum generally looked a lot better when Berbacunt came on.

Yeah, I was thinking exactly that, watching the Stoke game and remembering Magic's performance for England against Andorra. He won't rip good defenders to shreds like that, but - as with Ronaldo and to a lesser extent Pennant - he's very good at imposing his game on players of lesser ability. Just what we needed.

But he basically stated they're going to win fuck all without Ronaldo and that the Owen and Valencia signings equate to a bad summer.

Most of the pundits seem to disagree, I was just looking to see who agreed with JD and who agreed with the pundits.
