It looks like some Ukrainians decided to create a flash mob offering free stay to fans for the final, seeing how local hotels and hostels jacked up the price for that night to embarrassing levels. They created a Facebook group where you can connect with potential hosts. Hope this helps someone.

I read the original threads on this (in Russian) and it seems legit.

Also, my friend of a friend – a football person, a former employee of Dynamo Kyiv, just told me he could host "several" LFC fans. So if anyone is looking for accommodation, please PM me – I need to let him know how many are there. Although I already informed him that "the whole city of Liverpool is coming" 🙂

Stay for free and only pay for the massage?
 
I joined the group.

We have a hotel for Friday night, but not Saturday. Were planning to wander the streets, or go to the all night karaoke bar that has the following tripadvisor review:

Having an option of a couch to crash on for a few hours may not be bad, but not sure the host will love three drunk old bastards rolling up at 4am

Two updates:
1. I’m not going to Kyiv myself - work and family obligations won out, although I know I will probably regret it mightily (esp if we win).
2. I have some contacts that can host (for free) an almost unlimited number of LFC fans, provided everybody can guarantee good behavior (within reason). I’m already arranging the stay for a few people but there is room for more, so PM me. I also have reliable local contacts who can help with advice on transportation, where to visit etc.

Not just a great football analyst but now an Inn keeper. Is there anything this man can't do. I've said it once I'll say it again, you're a bloody legend mate and a thoroughly top bloke.

I've been offered tix already for 1000 quid each but I'm not playing that game. If I can get both my lads in for that then I'll do it, and I'll watch in in the pub on my own.

This forum is going to be a quiet place after half you lot have been kidnapped while seeking free accommodation.

FFF will also be busy convincing Doc Mac that it's time he moved on and that his 6 month stint on the street is overstaying his welcome.

I'd love to host people if I was still living in Ukraine, but as it happens all I'm doing is making connections and translating between parties. I don't think I would even be of any use a local guide, since I have not been back to Kyiv for years.
