you're full of this 'night of the long goatee' 'rafa worshipper' 'rafa wankathon' 'oh miss, i was only tring to help!' ABSOLUTE FUCKING BULLSHIT. you claim you're sick of the argument but always first to roll up for the ruckus. you use this 'night of the bla bla bla' line when it's virtually always your 'side' that provokes the other with some criticism of the man. how often has this crap been started by one of us praising benitez? HARDLY FUCKING EVER.

Stop taking this so personally, peter.
You'll find that I usually make a post criticising Rafa after one of the many Rafatollah posts littering this place.
If you want to know where I stand, all you need to do is read my posts about Rafa specifically.
The reason why I started this thread was because I realised there was no point anymore, all I'd done was to make long posts where I'd tried to fairly appraised what I thought of Rafa, which was totally ignored by supporters like you.

look, i've nothing personal against you, i think you come across as a nice bloke, if one i rarely agree with. but when i see what i consider to be pretty rich double standards i'm gonna call them out, no matter who it is i'm attacking. i think you're consistently guilty of lowering the standards of these debates while accusing the other side of same. generally i'm always very careful to answer all criticisms made of benitez and give detailed, balanced, answers to each of them, and never provoke the argument in the first place.
it's this constant air of sweet reasonableness i can't abide, together with the endless suggestive 'rafatollah' (and the like) digs, cheaply trying to discredit those of us who might have the audacity to want to defend benitez as some kind of cult. so there you have it: sanctimonious, pugnacious, hypocritical.

When someone calls me a fucking hypocrite, I tend to think that person is taking it personally, pete.
I dont have an 'air of reasonableness', I'm just reasonable.
The reason why I've used the term 'worshippers' is because so many of his supporters here go on and on about reasons which they think justifies Rafa's failures. It's almost as if they are totally blind to his faults.
I used the phrase 'night of the long goatee' because I was disgusted with so many of these same supporters taking such glee at Hodgson's poor performances, as if Rafa would have somehow miraculously prevented it had he been here. You may think they were imaginary, but they were not.
I'll also say this too.
Not one of my posts about Rafa or his supporters comes close to the viciousness you were spouting in the 'regardless' thread.
