All jokes aside, I think most would agree that rafa is probably the best tactical manager we've had in a very long time.
His problem was always personnel; and not all of that was his fault.
The fact that less goals were conceded with poorer players does suggest better tactics, but systematic depletion of squad quality was always going to hurt him in the end.

one thing that has annoyed me is usually the reason defensive solidity goes to shit is the team is trying to evolve into an attacking outfit and are getting caught out of position. we have gone to pieces defensively without improving in the attacking area at all. we are clueless attacking AND defending.

Most RCDNW werent actually RCDNW and acknowledged his flaws but thought it was for the greater good and most RCDNR actually gave him credit for many things (Youth, Tactics, Europe etc) but didnt think that outweighed the obvious flaws. There arent reeeeeaaally any rcdnw or rcdnr'ers but for a handful of fucking wabs.
i dont see whats to be achieved by polarising the whole thing. He was amazing in some ways and fucking awful in others, i think most of us know that.

1 - Moving the defence back 5-10 yards from how they played under Rafa.
2 - Carra being injured.
3 - No Defensive midfielder
4 - They're all pretty much slow as fuck.
5 - Add the first four togethor, and throw Kyrgiakos into the team too and it gets 1000 times worse.
