I miss him already

He was a calming influence in a choppy sea of football

Your post history shows Negativity?!

Fucking hell.

Why do people go on there? Whats the point?

I bet RAWK is full of the kind of blokes who agree to play footie in the garden with their young sons, insist on beating them by a clear ten goals and then, as the poor kid sobs helplessly, lecture them on what they need to do to improve. And they probably write to the local paper a lot and feel undervauled at work. They don't seem to get life, the old RAWKITES. They must wish they could go around shouting 'Right, I'm locking this aspect of my life - and you're banned!!!'

Serial negativity. They are a bunch of mental cunts.

I got a message telling me to fuck off and crawl back under which ever stone I came from, the last time I was on there.

I loved Aurelio, great player and he should have been the Brazilian left back for years. His injury record is ridiculous though.

According to the official website report, he twisted his right knee while trying to avoid a tackle during training. Was originally earmarked for debut in Monday's match vs. Atlético Mineiro

If he hadn't have been trying to avoid it he probably would not have got hurt.
I respect people's opinions on Aurelio, I just don't get them, I thought he was a fairly average left-back most of the time and most of the rest of the time he was crocked.

regards

It's like when someone gets injured, people forget how average they really were, and think somehow they will miraculously become a better player than they were. Still disappointing for him to be injured and don't wish it on anyone.

Quite surprised by that Vlad.
His passing and positioning were great and he had that class about him that 70% of the rest of our squad didn't have, when on the ball.
He really could have been great had it not been for those injuries. Knock on wood Agger doesn't follow the same path.

I wish we had more players with Aurelio's abilities minus the injuries of course.
In his best season with us he got 3 goals and 6 assists in 26 games (6 sub appearances).
That's pretty impressive for a left back IMO.

What was he doing the other 5 seasons? Ironically, Valencia's most successful periods were when he was sidelined, and played the least - Champions League Runners Up 2001 (2 games in the CL), La Liga Winners 2002 (15 games), La Liga Winners & UEFA Cup Winners 2004 (4 games in all competitions), and 5 games out of 13 on our Champions League voyage in 2007, and only appeared once during the knock-out stages as Johnny Rockets was our main left-back. He did have a decent season in 2008/09 as you mentioned but one season out of 6 isn't good enough, it's a little bit average. I'm sure he's a nice guy though.

I think it's telling that Rafa, who knew him very well (unlike Aquilani) still wanted him and thought he was worth the risk. Turns out he wasn't, but at the time (25 years old or so?) he had the potential to become one hell of a player.
