Also have no idea how Ramos & Marcelo were in the FIFA XI.

What the fuck did they do?

Bummed out the CL by AJax and finish like 50 point behind Barca? Are you mad?

Name recognition mostly, there have to be players in each position and Marcelo and Ramos are probably the most famous players in the world in their positions.

Not for me. City did something nobody has ever done, won all domestic trophies with the second highest points ever and were a dodgy VAR call away from a CL semi.

We won the CL, bombed out of the cups and came second in the league. It’s not like we are Leicester City. We have one of if not the best teams in the world.

Pep gets the vote for me, but it’s hilarious he didn’t win it. Will add to his Klopp paranoia.

Well, happily the footballing world doesn't agree with you. Most recognize that getting what Klopp has out of these players, with his resources is more impressive than having the financial equivalent of a cheat code. We have one of the best teams in the world in large part because of what he's been able to get out of his players. There are some real gems in our team, and then there's a lot of good, but not amazing, honest, really hard workers that buy into what Klopp is doing.

Im fine with Messi being first, it wasnt his best season but it was still a great season by any metric. Ronaldo as 3rd best player in the world though, thats a joke. He wasnt in the top 20 players in the world last season.

We have the best keeper, best CB, arguably best two full backs and as good a front 3 as anyone in the world.
You make it sound like we did a Leicester City.
We have one of the best sides in world football full of some of the best players

In a couple cases we spent the money to have what we have (e.g Alisson and VVD) but in many it’s down to how Klopp and co have developed the team.

Guardiola has gotten a lot of praise for improving Sterling - a top tier 50M (back when that was a lot) talent they muscled off a domestic rival.

You need to give credit to Klopp for Robertson, TAA etc.

100% he has done amazingly well. I just don’t think they’re is any credible debate to say Klopp success last season was more impressive than Peps.

It doesn’t mean mean Klopp hasn’t been amazing, just that Pep’s achievement were better.

WUM

Yeah it's photoshopped or something. Look at the fuzzy marks next to Van Dijk, Messi and Mané.
Or he actually changed his mind...

Edit: figured it out. The Egyptian FA might have photoshopped it to keep Salah happy after finding out that the manager actually voted for other players.

Is there any better 20 year old CB's around?

When you compare him to Joe Gomez......he's few levels above IMO

Nah.

For me, before his injury, Gomez was at a higher level. De Ligt seems to fuck up in every game that I've seen him play, but is benefiting from the fact that Raiola is his agent and he scores a few goals.

He's miles off being in team of the year for me. I know I'm probably biased, but Matip was better than him last year. So was Laporte. That's just off the top of my head. Pique was brilliant last year, too, apparently. All better than De Ligt.

Maybe not team of the year but he's definitely not shit.

CL semi finalist, dutch double, nations league finalist.

Pretty decent going last season

Couple of things to note here.

- Alisson’s English is very good now.
- Look who the boss goes and speaks to at 3:45 🙂

For anyone who can’t be arsed watching, it’s Mbappe and his dad.
