"My place is in the Liverpool and England. It is early to speak honestly think we will be rooms (English league), but not so important for me to dispute the classification Champions League next season," said Fernando Torres in its own website. The discreet role that is making this campaign Liverpool, who was eliminated in the group stage of the Champions League of Europe, has prompted some media started to speculate whether Torres's future depends on achieving the England team a place in the premier club competition next season.

"What is important is that the club make a strong effort and major players, beyond the quality of the current template. We need four top players to compete, better than what we're here, cause we grit our teeth," says .

Fernando Torres is quick to affirm that the aim of Liverpool next season is to fight to win the''Premier''win''or the''Champions League, but that must come good signings, "he says, recalling also that we must not forget that still has three years left on his contract with English club.

After removal of the Champions League, third in his group as Liverpool went on to play League Europe (former UEFA Cup), which is already in a quarter-final where they will face the Portuguese Benfica.

Moving, in the semifinals could be found with former Atletico Madrid, if it eliminates Valencia. "First you have to leave Benfica eliminated an entire enormous historical past and a great present," he says.
"It will be a playoff (with Benfica) very hard. The Portuguese have a great team, great individual and a gorgeous game. They have left out consecutively to Hertha Berlin and Marseille. So hopefully resolve the tie at Anfield," says Fernando Torres, who despite missing some games due to injury with 18 goals this season. "The Atleti is also a tough opponent with Valencia," he adds, "It heats evenly-matched and better, then go step by step," says the author's goal in the final against Germany took the title at Euro 2006 Spanish selection.

Welcome to the site plates, I can't say I have ever noticed you before.

Torres was saying last year we needed to sign 'small players with skill'. I presumed he meant Silva or Mata.
With Reira being sold and Babel looking like his going to be sold too, may be we will back in for one of those guys.

Thanks so much Stu!!

I have a connection with a daughter of a American Football team owner who is good friends with the Gillett family. I get tid-bits from time-to-time so I will pass them along as I hear them!

Welcome Plates.

Interesting link to our gorgeous George. What's your take on him?

Welcome Plates.

I'd despair if we didn't have Fernando Torres in our squad.

My take on George and Tom are in it for the long-haul. Someone has told them that if they build a stadium then LFC will be worth 1Billion pounds. That has them locked in until that happens. Unless RBC make a big move then I don't see them going anywhere. Why would they sell 40% of a company for 100 million when they could get almost that for Fernando alone. It would be a bad business move.

The two American's leverage the club based on the fans as much as the clubs success. They know they have something VERY special in Liverpool and they know that the reds have the most loyal fans in sport. Thus they will wait until they get what THEY want.

That's my take!!

Agree fully. They wouldn't have sold their other, also quite valuable, sports clubs if they weren't sticking around here.

that my take as well, they will use the 100m from rhone, refinance the loan and appy for the loan of the stadium at the same time. I don't see them leaving anytime soon unless

a) somehow they don't get the 100m (they will).

b) someone offers them stupid money (cant see it).

we're stuck with them

We're not necessarily 'stuck with them'. As one by one our best players leave, which they will if this continues, the fans hopefully will take the 'ultimate sanction' and vote with their feet.

I must say I am disappointed with our protests. Man Utd definitely leads the way with their fan protest. Ours are stuck on 'Rafa Out', which misses the point completely.

I'm disappointed at that. Liverpool has traditionally had a defiant, rebellious spirit, thinking of the likes of Hatton and the anti Thatcher sentiments of the 80's. Let's hope its rediscovered even if its at the cost of a Champions League place.

So you actually want fans to stay away, reckon our best players will leave when this very thread makes it crystal clear that Torres for one is going nowhere, and look to that pathetic bluenose clown Derek Hatton as an example to follow. Good grief.

So says the man who has been to one game this season - and that was a friendly.
You must have realised what was going to happen, and started your protest early KopKing.
I have never (unfortunately) seen a "Rafa Out" protest at Anfield, like-wise I don't think you will see United fans voting with their feet either, not while they are at the top of the pile, wearing yellow and green scarves is about the top of it.
The only time you will get that is when the team is playing shite , not doing well.....recognise that.
It happens because we get fed up , not because of some great moral crusade.
The vast majority of the crowd are season ticket holders , so it would be fucking clever of us to stump up our £800 quid or whatever it is, and then not go to the game. We could always give up our season tickets which we might have held for thirty years or more and then see Benitez sacked and new owners and not get them back.
Those that do "give up their tickets" nearly always retain the right to them and merely rent them out, in the hope that things will improve.
What we could do is get a bunch of ex-shop stewards to organise a rabble to involve themselves in pointless protests every now and then.....oh wait.

I want the fans to make a stand, in whatver way they can, because without the fans, there is no club and it's the fans paying for the H&G's purchase of the club.

lol... yea that was it I started my protest early...thanks 🙂 Actually, I'd go more if I could get hold of tickets reasonably close to the issue price. Any ideas?

What do you think we should do as fans regarding the owners? Or do you think their stewardship is what's best for the club?

That's exactly why I can't agree with you, or understand those who would. Galling as it may be to have Statler and Waldorf riding on our backs, the price of directly damaging the club to get rid of them is one which I, as a Red of damn near half a century's standing, will never be prepared to pay.

the bottom line is the yanks want to make money on their investment, you don't invest in something and run it into the ground having said that that is exactly what they did with corinthians but liverpool is much more high profile and the jewel in their porfolio. my hope is the second the 100m is secured work begins on the stadium.

I respect that I really do, unfortunately that's what they are counting on and why they are taking us for a ride. The damage will only be temporary and the club will always be it's fans. Here's hoping some rich Sheik comes along and puts us out of our misery.

It's a sad state of affairs though when we need a sheik/multi billionaire whatever to be able compete. Football is fucking wank these days.

Fernando Torres has pledged his future to Liverpool in a bid to end the flurry of stories linking him with a summer move away from Anfield.

The Spain striker has cut an increasingly forlorn figure during the course of a turbulent season which has been blighted by a series of niggling injuries.

Torres has scored 18 goals this term but a series of reports had suggested the 26-year-old could seek a summer transfer should the ailing Merseyside club fail to secure Champions League football for next season.

However, Torres claims he is happy at Anfield and not thinking about leaving the Premier League whatever happens to the Reds this season.

"My place is here at Liverpool and in England," he told his personal website. "It's too early to talk, but I still think that we will finish fourth."

But despite pledging his future to the Reds, Torres claims that they need to sign 'quality' players during the summer in a bid to close the gap on Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

He added: "Qualifying for the Champions League isn't the most important thing on my mind.

"The most important thing is for the club is to try and sign quality players, footballers who improve the quality of current squad.

"Next season we want to be challenging for the Premier League title and the Champions League or Europa League, but for that to happen we need some new signings.

"And remember, I've still got three years to run on my contract."

Torres deserves better, we know it and he knows it

If we don't sign three top quality players this summer to ensure that Eggnog, Lucas and Insua never play for us again, he should leave

No, he shouldn't. He's not the kind of individual to be satisfied with walking out on LFC in an hour of need, however understandable such a decision might be from one point of view. His place is here, and (fortunately for us) he knows it.
