The idea that we were a 100% samba side never once employing Route 1 in the 70's or '80's isn't entirely accurate, Terrier.
I personally have nothing against Route 1; but it should be just one of the many tools and formations in the arsenal.
The sad bit was of course that it was pretty much our ONLY method in the Heskey/Owen era.
