He's not going to play. £27.5m is a great fee for a player who is not proven at this level.

Let's move on.

Not convinced with this one either to be honest.
He was one of our best players in pre-season and a likely starter next week with most internationals not physically ready yet. I had hopes he would play a decent role this year.
Loans and sales but still no one signed one week before start, very worrying.

So £20m with £7.5m addons.

It's a fair profit for a transfer that has not worked out and we never had a credible plan to make it work out.

It seemingly is challenging to lose money on young players right now.

Shame as I think there’s a good player there, but a reasonable fee and it was always going to be a challenge for him to break into the team.

Lets not complain - we know our midfield is overloaded - sometimes too many options can be a bad thing and getting rid of him is one less thing to argue about.

Except he was playing in the forward line, where I wouldn’t say were are spectacularly overstocked with players half the site wouldn’t sell the minute a suitable offer came in.

I thought someone worth hanging onto to but then yes not sure he would have played much, I assume he wants to go and start regularly and not really fair on him too.

Had a feeling he could be 1 we looked to profit on in time as we weren't playing with a 10 when we signed him, another player we've benefited off from a good loan spell. Sepp will probably follow him and so will the likes of Ramsay, Beck, Clark etc in the next year or 2.

All the best to him.

I expect him to out G/A some of our front 5 in the PL but he didn’t seem to have a natural position on the pitch which was a challenge.

Happy to see him land a PL club though.

Slot saw him as a wide player and he saw himself playing more centrally. That and given the potential limited playing minutes makes this a good deal. He was never really a great fit for us, so to get this done is impressive work from Hughes.

Its obviously a shame as there is a great player there. He will probably do well for Brentford.

So 20% of 13m plus potentially another 7.5m to Fulham (£2.6m + £1.5m) leaves us with £17.4m plus potential £6m
