Fab Hendo Thiago Keita Milner

Nunes came on for about 30 mins and I counted 4 times he was running at our back 3. Why? Because the midfield dont have legs to stifle out counters.

Their goal, like for so fucking many this season, has Trent, with nobody in front of him, covering two, running at pace. Henderson used to make it out there. Before that, Salah used to help. Trent sort of didn't pick either option, take out the ball carrier, or cover the overlap. But he's entitled to be a little indecisive, because there is no good decision.

Is it me or is Elliot extremely one paced. He seems to run and dribble at the same speed.

You are some what repeating what Sourness said. I am called a loon here by a few people, but this post has no basis in reality.
We are losing Ox, Naby, Melo and Milner in MFand possibly Bobby. We need a couple of MFs one to two MF to strengthen in Jan ideally. Then if the one's you mention don't perform than I would agree but is logistically very difficult.

People call me a loon, but I have never been this reactionary.

People need to stop looking at any other problems other than FSG and their penny pinching.

When Arse and Man U fans focused their anger at the owners, the owners opened their wallets. We say FSG is a problem but then look at every other problem.

The sad truth is that putting Thiago aside, I felt more re-assured that we would be OK with Milner in the team.

The reality is we are losing Keita, Milner and Ox this summer, don't count Melo. But they are fringe players anyway. We're not getting ripped asunder every week because Keita or Milneris out injured, it's because Henderson and Fabinho are washed. They are not competing anymore and it's painfully obvious. The younger players Jones/Elliot have not stepped up, although Bajcetic looks very promising.

I give Thiago something of a pass as the harder running physical stuff was never his game and I still think he can be very very good with the right players around him. Regardless he's on his way in 12 months so wont be part of the rebuild.

Teams used to have to have the game of their lives to outwork our midfield, now they just have to show up and move the ball with purpose. The fact is we don't need one midfielder, we genuinely need 4, maybe 5 over the next 18 month as Thiago will leave and Hendo/Fabinho are done.

Whoever extended the contracts of Hendo (2025) and Fabinho (2026) looks very foolish now.

We're missing a trick by not bringing in 2-3 CMs in season and getting them indoctinated into the system ready for next year. If we finish Jan without any CM signings, you have to question what our strategy is.

We need two midfielders who are ready to play straight away. There's nothing wrong with keeping the other players, with the right balance they can play, the problem is playing them together, and relying on two kids who aren't ready.

Would be allowed to register anymore foreign players without first getting rid?

Also our lack of homegrown players after the summer will be concerning.

I just mean the notion that they are all finished and can go is daft, they are good players, but they can't perform week in, week out like they did at their peak.

For what it's worth, I don't see Thiago staying here too long, he'll go back to sunnier climbs.

I could bump into Monica Bellucci and she has her wicked way with me. But it ain’t happening.

To be honest we need an energetic runner that basically orbits around Fabinho and Thiago and will allow Thiago to spend most of his time doing the stuff we bought him for. Added to that he is gonna have to be fit and available for all our remaining games including all the shit shit teams because we are struggling against even them these days.
