Also Lambert and Coutinho up front... Maybe I'm going overboard to criticize the manager before the ball has been kicked, but WTF, Brendan? There are literally no 2 attacking players in our squad who are less compatible with each other than Lambert and Coutinho. Coutinho needs fast players with movement around him. Lambert's big strength is laying the ball off for the partner to shoot which we all know is Coutinho's big weakness. It boggles my mind that Brendan would start the 2 of them up front, there is no credible attacking idea behind this selection, it's just plugging holes and hoping something would suddenly click for no reason.
Alan Shearer not quite understanding that big clubs don't agree to play players regularly when they're too old to keep their place through merit alone no matter who they are.
