Just came back from a family holiday in Portugal, on the blue coast near Lisbon. It's the first time I've really felt I was visiting a genuinely economically distressed nation since this crisis began. The only other country I've been to in that time has been Spain, to Andalusia, Majorca, and Valencia. I can't say any of them felt particularly grim. Certainly nothing very noticeable, or any worse than much of the North of England.
How have other people found things? Greece, for example? Is it just the non-touristy areas? Has tourism been affected much? Have people been put off?
I was genuinely surprised how much worse and forlorn Portugal looked than those areas of Spain I've been to.
