Based on us having no european games this season, and our main rivals not buying anyone that I thought would massively improve them, I expected us to be top for and in with a decent shout of one of the cups. I thought we cocked the cups up of our own doing, but we've also been really unlucky with injuries. If we end up the season with top 4 and no cups, then we're not far off I don't think. I think the owners and Klopp would be happy with it in the grand scheme of things. And I think us finishing top 4 is more important to improving the squad with better players than winning one of the poxy cups was.

I haven't heard that one. Only that if Leicester win the CL and Utd win the Europa then 4th place goes into the Europa.

If Utd finish 4th, the only difference will be them getting in to the group stages from winning the EL, and not the qualification round.
The 5th placed team will go into the EL.
There will only be one extra spot if either Leicester or Utd win the CL or EL and finish outside the top 4.
If both win their respective tournaments and finish outside the top 4, the 4th placed team will get EL.
There can only be 5 English teams in the CL.

Well we smashed Everton, City, Arsenal and Spurs a few times under Rodgers, but our top 6 record this season and last has been consistently great. Hopefully that continues on Saturday.

I think the other thing that tipped me off Rodgers is that he was useless in Europe. I mean, I don't usually talk this way, but his record was baaaad.

Klopp obviously has only had the EL last season but it was a major upgrade. And he has a good track record to boot.

only if LCFC win the CL. 5 teams are possible 6 is not..

No, they changed it so now you can have 5 teams from one country in the CL under these circumstances. Which means if we finish 4th and United win the EL, that doesn't affect us.
