Everton Vs Liverpool Match Thread

Koeman doesn't think they deserved to lose

It was pretty tight and short on chances, but we were the better side in the second half, and moaning about Lovren's lack of a second yellow when Barkley was lucky to stay in the pitch twice is a bit stupid

Red faced Dutch cunt. Fuck off

Wijnaldum was so composed in possession today. Easily MOTM in my opinion. In a 4-3-3, you need a defensive mid, an attacking mid and the balancing midfielder.

He was the balance today for us. I wish he played forward a little more quickly sometimes and took a few more risks (and shoot especially when he's in and around the penalty area) but he kept us composed and playing throughout the game. It paid off in the end as they tired.

Apparently there was 5 players between Mane and the goal when Studge shot.

What a weapon his pace and anticipation is 🙂

Haven't read the whole thread but just a note to say Wijnaldum was fucking brilliant tonight. My MOM. Don't think I saw him give the ball away once.

Thought Lovren and Klavan were exceptional but ya thought he was superb, don't understand the negative comments at all.

He keep the ball moving and supporting the player on the ball in tight spots all over the pitch.

He popped up everywhere and in fast paced games where tackles fly in that's a huge thing to have.

Also, those that were 'worried' about Milner and his form can rest at ease after that, typically predictably great performance.

Disagree. He got up and down well but had more than any player space and time and his passing was way way off

Really enjoyed that game. The match thread not so much.
Away to Everton and instead of consolidating our communal hate for them we're squabbling over our own players. Ffs.

Brendan, can you give it a rest continually stating the obvious please. You aren't even dressing up your points to pass them off as anything other than repetitive trolling. You're posts are not humorous any more, nor interesting.

It's just weird. Calling Firmino a useless melt for example and alerting us to the fact he hasn't scored in x games.

You are stating the obvious then in other situations and acting like you are the only one that see's it. Every point you make is driven from a previous statement you feel you need to hammer home. It stems from an assertion you made that you seem compelled to stick too.

You're like Binny but with a limited set of stats. It's usually who has scored and who hasn't.

Back on topic, I thought Wynaldum was excellent for us. He's just a good player and very industrious on the ball. Lovren also stood out.
Delighted for Mane to get the winner. He has been excellent all season. He's even better that I expected him to be. I love when that happens.

He is massively under-rated by some on here. Whilst some of us have been saying how important he is to the team as the fulcrum the forward line pivots on.

...........
The reason I don't follow the match threads any more. Those with agendas write their own game and it's rarely anything like that I'm watching. It's actually amazing to read back after the game.

Disagree with you - He played the game to his own strengths and ability (and occasion) But as ever he was solid and dependable. He might have lost the ball a couple of times and lacked pace on occasion but come on! 0-1 being a make shift left back..... Fuck me man! The guy is probably one of the best free pick ups since Gary Mac (and that is saying something)

Are you drinking? Im not suggesting he isnt brilliant.
Im saying there were 3 or 4 times in this game when he was alone in space on the left and had bodies to pick out and way overhit the ball.
He was average today. And his passing was very poor

Don't worry, Origi is still a goal a game striker.

(We don't count the games he doesn't score in)

At least Koeman proves that Everton does indeed get in your blood quickly, because for a self-styled disciple of Cruyff to try to justify a performance like that, well, he's become a blue all right. Shocking.
