Everton Fucked?

Everton lose their games in hand and their goal difference is fucked. They’ll only survive because Chelsea will be kicked out of the league and take the final relegation slot.
Now you have me in a quandary

Cenk Tosun, that was a good signing and a clearly dogshit Theo Walcott. There are so many to choose from.

I would love it, if I was a billionaire. LOVE IT!
I know three - all my wife's friends from Wenzhou - I'll be honest and say they don't seem any happier (and maybe less so) than many 'normal' people. We have dinner with them at least a dozen times a year but they are always worrying about this and that and really don't seem to enjoy life rushing here and there - it's all about making more and more money instead of enjoying what you've got.

Unless either Burnley or Watford get really hot, it's unlikely Everton are going down despite being so shit.
I had a look through the remaining fixtures yesterday. Burnley one point behind Everton but I can see 4 games Everton may take points and 5 Burnley may (inc. Norwich & Watford). It's going to be tight. Leeds will be well away.

Not me, I'd be delighted with my money.

Games in hand are all well and good when you are winning them. But when you are at the bottom of the table games in hand are very rarely converted into points, and if anything they can make you worse off in terms of goal difference. Everton are absolutely dreadful and people are fooling themselves if they think Everton are too good to go down. Their fixture list is punishing and the teams around them are in better form. I reckon Dyche keeps Burnley up and Big Frank Lampardyce finally sinks the bitters.

Newcastle
Watford
Man U
Palace
Us
Chelsea
Leicester
Brentford
Arsenal

There’s a minimum of 6 defeats there. They are right in the shit.

Without even knowing if they're home or away, I think it'll comfortably be more than 6 defeats. The poor teams they play are in decent form recently. Newcastle, palace, Brentford have hit their stride again and look decent. Watford have the potential as well

It's not about how good Everton are, it's about how bad the bottom three are.

I don’t think it matters with Everton. The second they misplace a pass at home the Neanderthals will be on their case.

One big problem for Everton’s chances of staying up is that Lampard is absolutely fucking hopeless at coaching defence. His ideas and instincts are all wrong and he doesn’t have a sense of overall team balance. This is a manager who made Rudiger - now one of the most thought-after CBs in the world - look like a useless clown and placed him in the doghouse. Same with Christensen who looked a solid defender before and after being coached by Lampard, but a total liability during that stint. Even Kepa never looked nearly as bad in his career as he did under Lampard - noticing a pattern? His 2nd season at Chelsea set negative records for goals conceded despite that defensive line being protected by Kante, Kovacic and Jorginho - 3 of the very best DMs in the world.

Lampard is simply a serial destroyer of defenders; I really think he would even make Van Dijk look bad. He neglects that part of the game in order to implement his short-passing style combined with a high line, which does look pleasing on the eye and can at first scare some teams into retreating into defensive posture - but soon everyone figures out that the monster has a soft underbelly. Now Michael Keane - for all his shortcomings still Everton’s best defender - is the next one to be turned into a laughingstock by Lampard and even dropped despite them not having enough natural CBs to fill a back 3. With this kind of rudderless coaching being introduced in the crucial part of the season, Everton will need to get very lucky to avoid relegation.

I agree with all of that except to note that Keane was an utter liability under Rafa this season, who allegedly does still know how to set up a defense.

If that means under Lampard, Keane will be deliberately flinging the ball in his own net, then so be it.

I was listening to 606 last night (Radio 5 phone in show on BBC where fans can ring in to vent) and they had an Everton fan on who said the exact same thing. The issue with Lampard is he plays way too open and expansive football which is why the goals they are conceding. He also suggested Lampard was not the right choice of manager they needed, they needed someone who would be able to set up the team correctly and more defensively, a bit like Rafa (but not him) someone like Sam Allardyce or Sean Dyce. I had to lol at the first suggestion, return of the Big One!

I think they're down too, there isn't any fight in any of these players

Hasnt Allardyce already been linked to the job? A couple of more defeats and Fwank could have one of the shortest managerial careers ever.

Wonder whom their fans will blame then, seeing as they practically demanded his appointment. As for Allardyce, would that be the same Allardyce who bought Tosun and Walcott, rightly derided above? The same Allardyce who can no longer boast of never having been relegated after taking the Baggies down?

Shame innit. :vamp:
