I'd much rather have tough games against good European opposition that we take seriously, than meaningless turgid games against Braga, and AZ Alkamaar or some shit.

Correct. Plus it will give the younger players and Rodgers good experience.

I'm not really that arsed about this competition, but I desperately want us to get through this group so we can draw Newcastle in the knockout stages and wipe that smug fucking grin off that cuntchop Pardew.

Where the fuck has Doni gone - not included.

Has he been offed and buried under the pitch or something?

Doni's still at the club. Been registered as part of the PL 25 men squad.

Liverpool
Agger, Allen, Assaidi, Carragher, Coates, Cole, Doni, Downing, Gerrard, Gulacsi, Henderson, Johnson, Jones, Enrique, Kelly, Lucas, Reina, Sahin, Skrtel, Suarez.

Anyone doing the away trip to Moscow for the Anzhi fixture?

Be careful, very careful.

CSKA, Zenit, & Spartak ultras are notorious for hooliganism - even when their sides aren't playing.
Recently all hell broke loose between the Anzhi & Zenit fans in Moscow ... & Zenit weren't even playing, it was Anzhi vs. Rapid Wien in the Europe League.

A Russian team from Dagestan - a southern region of Russia notorious for its instability and terrorism. De-facto ruler of the region, billionaire Suleiman Kerimov decided to buy the team, probably to distract people from all the problems in the region. In the last 2 seasons they've been spending obscene amounts of money on players and coaches. The first big coup was Roberto Carlos, after that they got Eto'o, Balasz Dzusdzak, Chris Samba, Zhirkov, and now Lass Diarra. They have matched the asking price for Neymar, but the player didn't want to go there. Guus Hiddink is the coach now. Roberto Carlos was in the middle of controversy as Anzhi's own fans threw bananas at him, twice. He's forgiven them, however. Now he has retired and was given an administrative position at the club. The team now lives and trains in Moscow and flies 1200 miles south to Dagestan for every "home" game.

Is this the side that had the referee's door kicked down & 'a heated conversation' was held when they were 2-0 down only for them to get every decision in the second half & win 3-2?

If so it's gonna be a fucking hard game for many reasons.

Rather go to Moscow that thon other place.

Maybe FSG could stage a kidnapping while in Russia. The Joe Cole problem solved.

Game to be played in Moscow according to the uefa site.

Yes, I forgot to mention it. They have rented Lokomotiv Moscow's stadium (one of the few modern stadiums in Russia) for all their "home" games in EL. It's great we don't have to travel to Dagestan. We need to arrange somehow for Joe Cole to score a hat-trick against them. They can have him for 20 million.

Actually they were interested in Andy Carroll at some point according to rumours.

And it's like 15 quid for a pint.
