ESPN's 30 for 30

Anyone seen these : http://30for30.espn.com/

It's a group of sports related documentaries involving great stories from around the vast world of sports. Each one is made by someone different but Bill Simmons seems to have been in charge of the overall project, as well as being involved in the Red Sox one too.

Most of it is focussed on American sports so a liking or knowledge of them will mean you'll enjoy them more.

The Two Escobars was superb

I saw the one about the South African Rugby team, it was good.

They had one on this week I missed, about the Yugoslavian basketball team, and how they had to disband after the war, it looked very good.

It's a fantastic series and, yes, as soon as I saw the thread title, I thought of The Two Escobars which was truly fantastic.

ESPN loves experimenting with non-news programming, and it usually produces hilariously bad results. Their made-for-TV movies have lost them millions, apparently.

If they're going to info-tain the crap out of us, I hope they at least stick to documentaries.

According to Bill Simmons there was an Lfc 30 for 30 planned that didnt make the cut

They're going to continue making them anyway. The trailers all contained footage from the Steve Bartman one that didn't make the schedule. Simmons has said they'll carry as special events. NESV's involvement might make an LFC one more attractive to American audiences now.

I'm still waiting to see this Red Sox one about the 2004 ALCS 🙁

I missed that too. They're on all the time on ESPN America now. I saw the Petrovic-Divac one and the SMU one last week. Both excellent. The Len Bias, USFL, and Baltimore Colt's Marching Band episodes were good also.

Yeah. It has previously unheard Oj phone calls made while he was in the car. They were ruled inadmissable at trial. The boxset of the first 15 is appatently on sale now

And USC feel hard done by...

No kidding, huh.

It's been good to see June Jones bring them back into relevancy over the past couple of years.

They're hosting Army in the Armed Forces Bowl on the 30th. Got outplayed by UCF in the ConUSA title match though.

Saw the Serbia/Crotia basketball one today. Pretty good.

Also caught some of the Reggie Miller v New York one which was alright.
