That "minutes silence" was a disgrace

what happened? (I assume someone made some noise)

There were random lowlifes shouting random lowlife things. Unintelligible factory/building site shouting.

If that was close to the 1st choice brazil, they werent that impressive.

They are resembling a European side more than the traditional Brazilian side. They dont look that impressive but they have been winning games. They breezed through the South American qualifiers. They have an excellent defense. All of their attacking players including Kaka/ Fabiano track back and get behind the ball when they are under pressure.

Yeah, this is something that Tim Vickery goes on about a lot. They are a lot more focused on the physical and tactical aspects of the game these days and under Dunga. A prime example of this was the Copa final in which they played Argentina perfectly.

They really had nothing to beat in the SA qualifiers and have not been impressive in any of their friendlies against Euro opposition that I can remember offhand. Neat fast interplay when they get near the opposition's box but not exactly penetrative. Defensively their FBs are weak and the CBs brutal (I don't think they will get away with the type of fouls they made on Rooney last night, in the WC). Even Barry made their midfield look lost yesterday too - against top class midfields they may be in trouble, my money is not on them.
Spain look a much better outfit overall (if they are all fit) and if England had a full first team out against them we wouldn't be outclassed (our virtual second team wasn't). This could be one of the most open WCs in history. Any one of 7 or 8 teams could win it.
I was thinking about this match earlier and that Brazil team was absolutely shite. For some reason, it never really dawned on me at the time. Its a depressing state of affairs when Brazil has no standout exciting players (Kaka excepted).

Is Lucas on the bench?
I'd love to see him come on just to see how he plays for a different team.
