I am pretty sure Hodgson will pick and play Carroll.

He may be a stubborn ol git, and not really a great manager, but he's not blind.

Another thing. If he doesn't play Gerrard in central he'd be like the fourth consecutive England manager not having a grip of how to get the best out of your best player. What an incredible waste.

Aye, can't see Gerrard being fit though. So it'll probably be Barry 🙁 We need a bit of energy in the middle of the park, we could do with a younger lad being available, can't stand watching Barry chasing shadows again like in the World Cup.

There are flaws all over though. The front lads Sturridge/Defoe/Wellbeck need plenty of service to feet or in behind and don't really possess the ability to keep hold of it and bring others into play. Young and Walcott are both quite direct but lack discipline when off the ball (which we're likely to be, alot) and the midfield lacks energy.. someone with a bit of spark and drive.
