El Star risks fans fury as he asks to leave Liverpool

I think he'll probably get more out of them than Benitez did. However, hopefully he will be putting his arm round them as he leads them to the door out.

Sell both El Zhar the phenom and Insua. Take the money and get Taiwo. That's our left back slot sorted.

He is a beast! Big, strong, powerful and quick. He is made for Premiership football.

Yes, I look forward to Woy putting his arm around our shit players

I said young players, not shit players. We haven't found out yet if they're shit.

Yeah, but - why did we ever sell Warnock?

I don't think I ever got that at the time and I don't think we got much for him, did we?

I agree fully. It was unclear how far Warnock was going to progress as a footballer and he certainly was lacking in positional sense at the time, but the small fee we recouped for him was not worth dispensing with a player who could operate as decent cover at left-back and emergency cover on the left-wing if necessary. He's still not a worldbeater but came pretty close to making the World Cup squad, is better than any player in his position on our books now and wasn't about to drop in value had we held onto him for another season at least.

surely the same logic should be applied to Insua then?

In comparison INsua has developed much quicker and fast than Warnock. If I'm not mistaken, at the same phase of their Liverpool career, Warnock had yet to appear for the first team and was on loan at Coventry or possibly even Bradford. I don't think Warnock made the first team until he was about 23.

Just the thought of us getting about £12m for the combined "talents" of Lucas, Insua and El Zhar gives me wood.

There was nothing more depressing than, in a must win game with just minutes left, bringing El Zhar on to try and turn the tide.

An utterly, fucking useless crab. Sell sell sell!

Exactly, what is the point of El Zahr?

There isn't one. It's not as if he's an up and coming 18/19 year old prospect. He's 24 this year.

And he's fucking garbage.

It winds me up that he has been afforded so much time, and so much has been invested in him when there is almost certainly a few local lads at least equal to him who don't get a chance.
