Anybody having financial issues?

I am and so this week the tinned goods and dried pulses, beans etc that sit in the cupboard have taken a hammering.

Today's lunch for me and the kid was half a tin of corn and an egg turned into an amazing Chinese corn soup. We also had a lunch of tinned tomato soup that worked out ok. Having a substantial amount of herbs and spices in the cupboard has been handy for flavoring dishes with minimum of ingredients.

Bread made with just flour, oil and water was another of this weeks adventures.

Anybody got some tips on feeding a kid on a shoe string?

Payday is tomorrow so I'll probably go back to eating caviar for the next week.
