What a foul bag of shite this manc-loving moron is. They all do the same thing - they never really apologise, they actually complain that their words have been twisted, even though what they said is out there for all to see. Shocking bloke.

Sky News presenter Eamonn Holmes has apologised for comparing violence at West Ham’s home game with Manchester United to the tragedy at Hillsborough.

In a report on the attacks on the Manchester United players’ bus on Tuesday night, Holmes said: “This is going back to the 70s and to the 80s, the type of thing you were seeing that was bad about Hillsborough, for instance.”

The comments come just weeks after an inquest ruled that 96 people had been unlawfully killed at Hillsborough stadium in 1989 and fans had in no way been responsible, contrary to initial claims by South Yorkshire police.

The comments immediately sparked outrage on Twitter from fans calling on Holmes to apologise and the shadow culture secretary Maria Eagle, who has been closely involved in the Hillsborough families’ campaign for justice, offered to meet the presenter to explain what had really happened.
“I’m happy to talk to him and take him through what happened at Hillsborough,” she told the Liverpool Echo.

“I spend a lot of my time counteracting the myths put out by South Yorkshire police to evade their failures. I’m amazed somebody who ought to be aware of the details of current news should be so ignorant about Hillsborough.”

Sky quickly released a statement in which Holmes apologised. However he attracted more criticism for trying to explain the comments and accusing “someone of trying to use me to stir up trouble re the Hillsborough disaster”.

Just being made aware of someone trying to use me to stir up trouble re The Hillsborough disaster . How low , how disgusting.

He later tweeted that there was “no comparison” between the events at West Ham and Hillsborough, and issued another “unreserved” apology to anyone who “thought I was making that connection”.

I apologise unreservedly if anyone thought I was making that connection.

He used to live near my parents and went to the same dentist as us. Once he was sitting in the waiting room and the dental nurse announced in front of anyone that the last time he had been was seven years before.

The filthy mouthed bastard.

Not sure how anyone could twist the above into anything other than it is. If he wanted to go back to the 70s and 80s, he really should have compared it to the behaviour of the fans from his own beloved club. Cunt!

I haven't been since school.

I haven't been since school.

You lucky bastard.

I've had four teeth removed at dental hospital after abscesses and endless fillings and spent £800 trying to save another. Apparently I have kinky roots.

As for Eamon Holmes. He never crosses my radar, thankfully. But yes, what a fucking shitstain. These media types must miss tha days when they could asay whatever they wanted and the worst that could happen was someone was taping it on VHS, even then there was no easy way to get it out into the world. 'Tomorrows chip paper' is no more. Plastic manc cunt.

Not even once?

Yeah, my jaw was hurting and I thought my wisdom teeth were too big and the dentist told me I needed to have them out and also needed about three fillings so he booked me in for the next week. That was about ten years ago. I didn't go back.

Eamonn Holmes always strikes me as someone with high self-esteem based on no evidence. You can tell that what he says pleases him. He's the archetypal man in the pub. His sense of rightness hinges purely on his gut reaction, he has no need of study or evidence or critical thinking. He's entirely the sort of person who did and still thinks that Hillsborough was all about hooliganism despite his attempts at PC.

I can see him now bringing it to the attention of all who will listen as to how he was misunderstood. And we know that all around him will indulge his self pity. He'll soon be back on track thinking he was right all along.

He's from the Richard Keys school of arrogance. 'I must be important, I'm on TV'. No sense of humility whatsoever.

I avoided the dentist for years after school, then eventually started going again when I was about 30. Then I moved to Ireland (in 1998) and haven't been since. I have horrible teeth, but at least I dont have to face the evil dentist bastards

A Manc who doesn't really grasp the finer aspects of the game, mentally referencing something he might have read once in the papers and completely ignorant to the history of the sport, pre-1993.

Shocker.
