A DUBLIN footballing wonderkid has scored a €1m contract after he signed for Liverpool.
Conor Masterson (13) bagged a massive contract with the Premier League giants after he was spotted at the Kennedy Cup in which he starred after his DDSL triumphed in the prestigious underage cup.
Conor's dream move to Anfield will net the Dubliner a cool €1m.
The teenager had been courted by a host of Premiership clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea, but after entering into negotiations with former Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish, Masterson will now head for Liverpool's impressive training complex at Melwood, on Merseyside to continue his footballing development.
The youngster's talent was spotted at an early age and he has made huge strides and overcame injury this season to participate in this summer's Kennedy Cup where, along with Lucan United club mate Brandon Payne, he played a vital role as the DDSL under Garrett Dodrill reclaimed the most famous schoolboy trophy in Irish schoolboy football.
The 6ft centre-half was wooed by both Manchester clubs and was subject of a bid from European champions Chelsea after he was spotted during a trial for West Ham.
"Lucan United FC are delighted to announce that Under 15 player Conor Masterson will be joining LFC on his 16th birthday," a statement from the Dublin club said.
Liverpool academy director Frank McParland said: "We spotted Conor playing at Lucan United and we were impressed. We're looking forward to his 16th birthday, welcoming him to the club and nurturing his talent."
Conor met former Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish and current manager Brendan Rodgers as the Merseyside club vied for his signature.
Meanwhile FAI Emerging Talent Head Coach, Colin O'Brien, has included Masterson in his squad to take part in the Hibernia Trophy that is due to take place from August 17- 9, where his team is grouped with Glasgow Celtic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Linfield FC.
