I agree this lad looks the biz playing-wise but there's something else I'd add. At one point in the Bayern game Lallana was on the deck and Vidal was leaning over him giving it large until Solanke got between them, pushed the little dipsh!t away and gave him "the look". Vidal didn't bother arguing with him after that. Me likey.

Yeah, and Vidal is definitely not the player you mess with, probably the hardest player in the whole Bayern squad.

I like Solanke as well. Great talent, and scored a few beautis to top of the hard work put in.

I still think we should have our eyes open for a striker. Sturridge limping off after 20 minutes with competitive play against Bayern doesn't bode well. I don't want the pressure on Solanke to be leading the team in rough away games in europe or PL. And that might easy be the situation if we only have Sturridge as an experienced back up for Firmino.

Some people thrive on pressure. Hopefully he's one, as we're a fucking pressure cooker of a club for young players

If we had paid £50m for a striker and they had put in Solankes performances to date then we would be extremely satisfied. Preseason has to be taken with a pinch of salt - Aspas springs to mind - but he certainly looks extremely promising and I see him transitioning well into thread to Premier League. He's clearly in better form or just better than Origi right now and could we end up being out number two striker by the seasons end. We've got a steal.

Just him telling Chelsea to fuck off last season and now joining us tells me that the kid is desperate to make it. He's been good in pre season but there's a lot of things he needs to improve and as we all know when the season really starts games are going to be played with a totally different pace and intensity.
The kid is third choice imo, but with Origi around I think Klopp is thinking 4th (poor Ings).
Will be very interesting to see him play in the cups.

Wouldn't directly disagree with that, but my impression is that this kid is mentally and physically tough enough to make the transition to first team football if called upon.

He's gotten less of a look in than I thought he would have. Arguably less than he earned? Divock possibly still ahead of him?

Well, the way I see it. He's been on the pitch for 25 minutes and contributed to 1 goal via excellent pressure.

Divock is well behind him.. he has probably a lot of game time ahead of him and no worries as long as he developes more.
