Total LFC games/goals: 259 / 67

We could do with someone better, I love Dirk, I love his work rate, but there must be better options at 31 we really should be looking to bring in a younger hungrier player, maybe fighting for his place would up his game?

It certainly seems to have work with Jonno and Kelly ?

I never said that "he's playing like he's done since he got here", he has played better than this. I was responding to mark suggesting and defending kuyt's form on the basis that he might be getting past it, and him saying that kuyts attackers like carraghers attackers are having there day in the s** now because he's getting old.So I pointed out that his attributes and qaulities are the same as when he first got here( bad touch, no pace, no skill, workaholic) and we see the same every year. So kuyt being rubbish at the moment hasn't got anything to do with him getting past it as Mark was suggesting. The fact that it happens every year also supports that argument.

Not so sure, personally i think we might try and get a couple of mill for him at the end of this season.

With 2 more transfer windows to go before next season you'd expect us to sign at least a couple more attacking players, so who's likely to drop out of the match day squad on a regular basis?

Well he'd certainly deserve it, but i'm not sure FSG will pass up a chance to get transfer fee for him

With Dirk it's quite possible we could get a decent fee for him mate, i'm just not sure our business minded owners will turn their backs on say 2-3 mil.

Squiggs answered it Pete, the reason I got annoyed months ago was Modo telling us how he was right all along. Err, no you weren't mate, he's just getting on a bit now and is now not good enough to start all the time. Same with Kuyt, the posters who are first to jump in are the one's who've given him flack for years.

Neither player are at their best and their best years are behind them, that's a completely different discussion to whether they've been good enough for us.

I wasn't jumping on George's post btw, that's more or less how I feel, I took offence to a couple of the usual detractors being the first to put the boot in.

As I've said a couple of times in this thread, to say kuyt is not at his best cause his best years are behind him is rubbish because every year he has a 6 month rubbish spell. And it's not like people are coming out now and saying see I told you so, they say it every year, and im sure when people were having a go at kuyt last year or the year before or the year before that you weren't saying leave him alone his getting past it. That is a ridicioulous argument when it comes to kuyt as his consistancey in providing this 6month spell is incredible year after year.Being a year older has not taken away his footballing ability as he never had much in the first place.
