This begs the question why are you so worked up about people from other countries not wanting England to win?
I find it weird that the other home nations don't support us when they're not in it.
Simply because I always want them to do well when they play in tournaments, & all my mates who are English do as well, so it seems odd there's all this malice the other way around.
No malice at all. At least not from me. It's all banter/rivalry etc. Having said that, the British media have played a huge part in hyping England up, ultimately leading to them looking like bellends. A lot of the fans were the same.
Oh, and that fucking song alone is a good enough reason for us not to support you.

Yeah, I get where the bitterness stems from.
I think some of it night be due to all of the terrible things that England has done to them over the years (how many times did we get invaded by the Scottish? Not many. And there's still English bullet holes in many Dublin buildings)
Plus there's the non-political 'arrogant big brother' effect.
Alot of it is just down to proximity, I work with an Argentinian guy and asked him about the English/Argentine animosity. He said if Brazil played Argentina in the final most people in Argentina would cheer for England simply because they dont want to listen to Brazil lording it over them when they win. They dont like England but dont really have very much to do with them so its alot easier to ignore.
Now that would be an interesting situation.

I keep on hearing how we need another CB. But do we really? It'd be nice but I think, despite all the hate from our rivals, Lovren is actually a decent defender.
I actually don't think Lovren is any better/worse than Otamendi (who looked a calamity 2 seasons ago, and at the end of last season again).
Nor is he any worse a defender than Gary Cahill or David Luiz (although he obviously gives a lot more quality on the ball). Or Jonny Evans.
All title winning defenders.
I think the back line of:
A competent GK (something we haven't had in 10 years)
A competent LB (something we haven't had in 10 years)
VVD
Lovren
Clyne/Gomez/TAA
A dedicated DM (something we haven't had in almost 10 years)
And throw Keita into the mix.
Will be enough to put us in title contention. I don't expect to see us shipping goals galore anymore, once all the players settle back from their WC duties. I suspect we will tighten up as the season goes along too.
I think our main focus in the window needs to be a Fekir. Someone capable of playing AM in midfield and false 9 to cover Bobby F.

@ibromurph - agree on Lovren. Most of those defensive issues were to do with Midfield being utterly shit in their ability to retain posession. Even with VVD it was still an issue...its only when OX started getting better for us that the defensive errors were less.
