Lovren's just one part of the greater issue. We cannot defend.

We have the 6th best defence in the league.
How fucking depressing must it be supporting clubs that concede more goals than we do because it's pretty fucking depressing supporting the 6th best defence.
But but we have the fifth highest wage bill. Why are we only the 6th best defence?
When we were 4-4-2 he looks more comfortable tucked in but when we go 3 at the back he always had to try to win the ball off their strikers higher up the pitch or at the wide positions. And he loses his battle most of the time, leaving a big hole for their striker to run into. Then our whole defense back paddles like crazy and we know what happens next.
Skrtel is great at winning his individual battles and reads the game well; that is why he is our best defender. Lovren as a back 3 is always caught out of position, over commits himself and end up needing to lunge at opponents like an amatuer.

Lovren initially looked the part and seemed interested in leading our defense. He quickly threw in the towel and began playing as an individual. We were all over the place, Moreno and Glen weren't concentrating in FB positions, Mingolet was afraid of the ball and we often played without a proper DM. Rodgers NEEDS to sort out our defense if he is to stay. It's been a worry since he got here and he doesn't seem to be able or want to address it. Odd.
However, I still don't have much time for Lovren. He's arrogant and lacks discipline. He has a habit of losing one on one duels. It's incredible easy to turn him once you've isolated him.
